Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by godguy: 6:18pm On Dec 29, 2020
Good day all,
Please i need help on the best way to go about this:
I am married with kids, my wife and I are both graduates, I have 10 years work experience while my wife has 7 years experience, both of us graduated with 2:1.

what is the best route to get study permit for both of us (target is Spring 2022):

option 1: we both apply for MSc admission while one person apply with the kids
option 2: one of us apply for study permit and the other person go as spouse with the children

also, since study permit takes 35 weeks (from the site), can we start the application process now?

Thanks in advance

Hello godguy,

Not an answer to your question, just a suggestion.

Have you thought of you/your wife getting a master’s in Nigeria and applying directly for PR? By 2022, one will be done or almost done if you start now.

Best wishes

Thanks for the suggestion.

Reason why we are not considering that is the stress (ASUU strike, getting admission, etc)

With the series of problems in this country, a program of 18 months can last for 3-4 years. Who knows what Canada will say by then!

No one knew US will stop Nigeria from Visa lottery.

So, I always advice anyone that wish to leave this dead country to start ASAP, so far the person has the money and wants to leave legitimately.

There is also the option of your wife applying together with the kids and you staying back as the sponsor. You can join them later.
your decision tho

While I'm waiting for Conestoga College on my admission application, I want to apply to one more school from the following and I need recommendation from gurus.
1. Algonquin College
2. Gorge Brown College
3. Camosun College
4. Durham College
5. Humber college
6. Keyano College

Program going for is PGC in HRM.
My Qualification: HND
Questions:
1. Which is better?
2. What is the initial deposit fee for the above Colleges.

Any information will really be appreciated.

Is there anyone who received Nse request, submitted the required documents and later on received a medical request? If yes, how long did it take to get the medical request?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Chocs(f): 7:25pm On Dec 29, 2020
You definitely have a point. There are a few schools that don’t get affected by ASUU though. It was just a suggestion. Everyone wants to eat me up grin

Hello Melvin888,

Most schools don’t require IELTS from Nigerian applicants/ people who had their previous study in English. But when applying for your study permit/visa, if you’re going through the NSE (fast-track) route, you’ll need IELTS.

Best wishes

Hi,

Nigeria is an English Speaking country, so you don't need IELTS for Masters Admission

You can check this link from PART 17 for Some guidelines to apply for Masters in Canada

Please is there anyone who got NSE but didn’t submit the document within the stipulated time? 3days after the NSE deadline, my current status is still showing “your action is required” and I was thinking the current status would return to “submitted/uploaded”. I want to know if I’m all alone in this

I cannot thank you guys enough. Especially for the Abuja VFS heads up.

Timeline for my cousin, who got her passport today.

1)Applied on August 6
2)Medical request on November 23
3)Medical done at IOM Lagos on December 7.
4)Medical passed on December 12
5)Passport request December 16
6)Two-way courier was sent through DHL on December 18 (a Friday)
7)Application was received on Monday, December 21 and sent to IRCC on the same day
coolDecision envelope was dispatched from IRCC on Wednesday, December 23
9)Decision envelope was received by VFS Abuja on Thursday, December 24.
10)Contacted DHL to know if they are picking up packages from VFS Abuja, they said yes.
11)Shipment was put on hold because of the holidays. But it was shipped into Lagos on Saturday.
12)Today, Tuesday December 29, DHL delivered around 1pm.
13)She leaves for Canada next week.

Applications are never the same. What worked for A may not work for B. Do your best and leave the rest to God. These entry officers no dey check everything. I think they just apply discretion.

Never give up. IT WILL END IN PRIASE.

I just want to be able to keep tabs on ghost update since my eligibility review started for almost a month now and it’s hard doing that with “your action is required”
