Good one Op.
Sadly many people will disregard this advice in few days time.

Few years ago I was earning about 75k a month (15days off 15days on) but I was not satisfied so I decided to look for a higher purchase car to complement my income got one for 1.2m (was able to pay it off in 8 months time) early 2019 I took out time to personally learned Forex Trading after countless losses I started making some money. As of today 30th December 2020 I make roughly around 500k to 650k a month from my Forex Trading and transportation business.

By the Grace of God I currently have 4 cars I use for my transportation business ( all from higher purchase) and my Forex Trading give me about 200k to 300k a month depending on the market.
At times I find it hard to believe I was earning 75k a month 4 years ago.
Come 2021 I will go into foodstuffs business everything is already in place.

Even if you're earning 1m a month try and get a side hustle it will help you on the long run.
Boss, can I message you, I go like learn from you especially on they foodstuff part..

With the 3 byke, I was still looking for other sources of income, my 3 kids in School then at pre nursery were always coming up with so many home work at age 2+, they were not picking at all, the way I expected them to pick, I found out I was the one doing most of the teachers work, funny enough the school fee increased, I pleaded with Oga to withdraw them from School, since am not doing anything, I'll be taking them at home, it was another serious battle, neighbors were coming to pokenose why I had to drop my own kids because of little increase in school fee.
I no kuku send them, I pleaded with Oga since the school fee was 20k each making it 60k termly, to be paying 5k each for the 3 of them to enable me buy textbooks and other materials the kids will need, he refused.

I started taking them at home, after a week, 3 family joined in, Oga warned me seriously never to use his room for any form of lesson, he never knew he was helping me climbed, so the lesson was outside the house.
Before the end if that term I was already counting 15 pupils.
I taught of upgrading myself since am into teaching, I had to enroll in Nigeria teachers institution (NTI). It's a four years weekend program, I paid myschool fee from the money parents were paying as lesson fee.

I was in this lesson for like 3years, my population did not exceed more than 25 foe this four years, I had to roof a space around my place to avoid rain and sun beating my pupils.

I had to vacate my area because of low patronage, before vacating my area I don't have a dime on me when this idea came up, I had to sell to of my new bike at the rate of 80k each, went to rent 3 rooms in a place very far from mine, my people, it wasn't easy at all but God saw me through, whenever I remember what I pass through that year, I always shed uncontrollably tears even as am typing.
To God be all Glory, that term of relocating I was counting 60 pupils, the 3 rooms was too small for us, after one session I add to relocate.
My husband has a land a stone throw from the school, so I pleaded with him that I want to start developing his land instead of paying rent, he accepted, my people Oga is into sales of building materials, but refused to assist me, I never mind because I know the taught of all his act will pull me down.
I was able to build 5 class room the next year and was counting 100 pupils, the next year, I added 3 more classes making 8, now my population is over 150.
Oga started threatening me last year to leave his land, the threat was so much that I had to pack out of the house and rented an apartment somewhere, I stayed there for like 6months, he started coming for apologies, in the cause of my six months outside my family, he had serious accident like 3 times, people were coming to plead on his behalf, I had to accept because of my kids, it was really telling on them. We are settled now by the Grace Of God.
Last year November I bought a land close to the School which is bigger than where I'm using presently, and just last week Thursday God blessed me with a School bus of my own.

I can't thank God enough, he has done so much for me.

The story is more tougher than this but for the sake of writing, I have to shorten it.

Nothing good comes easy, we'll have to strive until something happens.

This is a wonderful piece, and I can relate with it, especially with the country's rising debts and how fast it's slipping into recession, savings should be a top financial priority. Just like the saving platform on my signature that gives 10% interest monthly.

You make some sense, but you should know not everyone has the ability to raise startup capital.

Now, I always advise every young man, learn a trade, do stuffs with your hand, try many things and know what you are good at, not everyone can do business, some have really sad story.

Go and ask shell workers or oil rig workers what happened to their pay-off. Theae guys collected pay-off btween 10m -40m. Most of them did not survive after two years because they invested in a biz they do not know. While working start a biz then learn the ropes. Because you have a job you would be willing to take more risks and absorb more shocks to the biz. The greatest mistake you can do is starting a biz after you are retired. There is a high probablity of losing your money because apart from the fact that you are learning the biz, you may not be patient to go through the learning curve.

Workers should focus on working.

Luckily for me, as the business flopped, around march of 2016 I got an offer for a bank job which I gladly accepted. Salary was 75k/month. Not much, but for me back then it was much.

I went for training and was posted to one of the states in North west. I have worked for about 5 years now, but I only got a promotion January this year, taking my salary to N115k/month.
Now the question to ask is, if I was into business for this period of 5 years, putting in the type of dedication that I did where I work, as at now, will my net revenue per month not be more than N115k.

Over the years, I have got to understand that business grows every single day. It might not reflect in your net income, but each day that a customer walk up to you to buy your product or pay for your services, your reputation and good will grows. This will amount in more revenue/income later on.

Secondly, we all know that salary remain stagnant while inflation grows. No organization will increase your salary cos of inflation, but unlike business, business grows with inflation. For example, if a product is been sold for N8 as cost price while retailers sell at N10. If there is inflation and cost price rises to N11, most retailers will end up selling at N15, thereby increasing their income relative to inflation.

I am in the banking sector, and it seems to me that am trapped in there even though I work tooth and nail to resign as soon as possible, but a lot of things that I have invested into, didn't turn out as I hope. Not giving up yet, as I look out for other opportunity. To grow a business, the owner need to be on ground to nurture it, but that time is what you don't have when you are working for someone esp as a banker. Its not all that easy leaving your job entirely to go and grow/nurture your business, at a time when you already have responsibility and expenses to carry, you might end up running down your capital. That's why I want to reiterate that the best time to start a business is when you are still in school or under your parent roof, that way you can do all the trial and error you needed to do without getting burnt. If the business fail, you still have roof over your head with your feeding and other basic necessities covered, all you need is time to regain more capital and start afresh.

If you will be interested, I have a good business proposal for you that I'm currently planning to establish next year and will require partnership.

It took me more than a year and around 200k to learn Forex on a one on one bases and another 4 months before I started making small small profits like 10-20$ a week gradually I grew.

Forex requires self discipline and consistency. You must be mentally and emotionally strong to withstand Forex and it's unpredictable nature.

People mostly fail in Forex because they lack patience to learn and also think it's one of those get rich quick platforms. It takes time.

You have spoken well brother. Although business is not for everyone and some cannot deal with the ups and downs. But I tell people that in Nigeria every youth should strive to be a businessman or woman because most Nigerian employers are Terrible. The banking sector has been handed over to selfish hawks who have buried professionalism and careers for profits. In an environment like ours being a business person should be a must for most employees

Sir,
I work 8-5.
I have 2 other sources of income.
I want to add a 4th one.
Fmcg is the one I think I can do while still working.
Most fmcg distributor around my location are already saturated or shared.
I'm just searching for info to see it it something I can do.

Yeah, I know but she is currently employed as a pharmacist in an hospital for 2years plus now but underpaid , so she intends going into, people she met seems not to be cooperative on this issue just like you are doing now..
