Driving takes 1hr 30mins at least the last time I was in Ibadan 2017..local transport cost 1100 or 900 naira....Most train riders would be those interested in photoshoot, since the train doesn't even guarantee early arrival
Oh well

From where to where?

From Lekki to Berger alone is 2hrs. Lagos traffic

The boarding fee you posted is wrong.

This train ridder paid just N600.

Ibadan to abeokuta , the post is Lagos to Ibadan and Ibadan to Lagos not abeokuta

One quick fact that was omitted..

based on statistics of the train having about 10 coaches and not less than 50 seats per coach..

Transport fare from two trips/day, with full load amounts to ₦4 million..

This is why the ibo man will not achieve anything in Nigeria with their politics of hatred, look at what PMP constructed for the yorubas because they supported him, but to IBO man once you mention buhari you are enemy of the east. IBO man change ooooo
mentality like this is why Nigeria can't progress.....in america or other civilized places do u see there leaders withholding developmental projects because states didn't vote for them....if we carry this thinking don't u think it would be better we go our separate ways than playing petty politics...both IBO Yoruba and Hausa.

This would be added soon hopefully
Hope is different from planning

Did they not think how they would repay the loans before building it ?
IS it just one of those Me-too I Mustbelong projects?

There are or should be two separate businesses here

The railtrack business

The train/transport business just like airports and airlines

We are just building to show actibvity with no strategy

Can government officials collect fares without corruption?

Simple truth is it should be concessioned
Because of the way it has been managed it will be impossible to concession without government making huge losses

Government should not be in the business of operating rail coaches especially in Nigeria.
It should be in private hands

It's not the train's fault. It's not easy being a Nigerian.

The brain activities of an average Nigerian can kill any other human being if subjected to thesame brain clock-speed.

If you ply the train you will never enter any local vehicle again, the inside is just exactly like a plane, very comfortable with air-conditioning, and restaurants
OGBENI SPEED IS IMPORTANT, I DON'T KNOW IF YOU HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH COMFORT AT HOME.

Even this one you can't afford it now you're asking for the best with just 4000MW. The speeds in China due to electricity...unless you want us to divert the small nepa we are managing to the railways

Well some people wouldn't mind paying extra for comfort. Not everyone wants to board a bus with troublesome and talkative people. Not everyone want to sit beside one elephant sized human or some dirty, stinky human. Not everyone can stand some of the annoying bus drivers who just like to look for trouble.

When you board a train, it's mind your business and you enjoy the AC and the tranquility.
I like the fact that it is expensive so that it will at least discourage some dirty peoole from boarding it so it can at least last for years.

True. I wish it gets to Mokola, Dugbe, Iwo road or even Sango self. Buh all in all it's a good development. And this will bring about development to Moniya and will hopefully gets to Ojoo too. And don't forget the proposed dry port is also to be in same Moniya and Oyo state govt has also ventured in some major estate project (Proposed) in same Moniya. Watch as Moniya turn to a metro from mere village.
You are very right about the development it brings to Moniya and it's environs

You don't have to support the president for him to do his job. Don't Nigeria make you start to think in a strange manner. The useless leaders have done a lot of damage to our reasoning. I mean it's heartbreaking to see how people celebrate a phucking train like it's some wonder of the world. These things should be normal. Rail, water, road and air transport. All should be normal levels that should make life easy for the masses.

Most new train tracks mean that trains travel at below their optimal speed to allow tracks settle. Eventually you will get 150- 180 kmh.

There are many people who will take trains over their personal cars. I certainly would.
THE TRAINS IN CHINA OPERATE AT OVER 250KMH SO WHY ARE THIS ONES BELOW 200 EVEN AT THEIR EVENTUAL OPTIMAL SPEED?
