Compliments of the season. Mercedes-Benz GL550 08 not starting when the engine get hot, but start once the engine get cool like 2hours. I have changed kick starter like 5 times, battery like 3 times, it really giving me sleepless night, now my mechanic is saying I should change the alternator. Please house, what could be the problem. Thank u all |

There should be a code stored, it will show up with a good scanner, if your coolant sensor reads high when not starting, check again when it starts and that will be a proof of concept.another culprit is ignition coil 1 Like |

Change your mechanic Run a scan on that car instead of throwing expensive parts at it like an angry housewife. The only person benefitting from that trial and error is your mechanic 4 Likes 1 Share |

abidemidare:fuel pump. Also check your temperature to make sure car isn't overheating. |

abidemidare:Check the grounding wires for the kickstarter. Check the termination point and the wire itself. Check the relays as well. |

I gave the car to one rewire I was introduced to, he checked it and said I should change the engine. I'm worried now. |

Your engine I good There are two things 1. Crank sensor 2. Fuel supply system (fuel pump ) but that should be. Remote one..... Do change your crank sensor first |

abidemidare: Problems with the Crankshaft Position Sensor (CPS) on Mercedes-Benz cars are fairly common. If you have been experiencing stalling or no start conditions, a failed crankshaft position sensor is often the problem. Your CPS may have failed if the engine cranks but it will not start. At first, you may experience no start conditions intermittently. As the crankshaft position sensor fails completely, the car will no longer start or will die when you are driving. Starting problems are initially random, but more frequent when the engine is hot. Other symptoms of a failed crankshaft position sensor are poor acceleration, engine vibrations, poor throttle response, bad fuel economy, hesitation, engine stalls. The engine starts if you let it cool down.
