For me, I can't really say which one exactly, because I was having issues of the cares of this world, covetousness, materialism, sexual lust, etc, so it was perhaps the combination of all those tendencies that seemed to prevent me from making that decision for God.

But I know there are some to whom it's just one thing, like a friend of mine who said it was "women", that was just his issue that made him not to make that decision to surrender his life to God.

What i've come to learn after I made that decision, is that whatever it was that was preventing anyone from making that decision to come to Christ was that which should bring the person to Christ, because He is One that has the solution to that issue whatever it is. Hence His saying:

Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

So you don't have to wait for that issue to go away before you come to Christ because you might keep waiting til it's too late. All you need, is the willingness to change, so come to Him with that willingness and He'd would make that willingness to become obedience.

If He did it for me and many others, He could also do it for you.

God bless.
Let's discuss this. What is the sin you talk about?

You condemn what you don't obviously understand.

1. Noah didn't leave Israel to Africa to warn them of the coming global flooding.... Was there an Israel nation at that time? Do you know the part of the world inhabited at that time?

It's not a must to believe in Christ or not. Leave your life however you want it, at the end we'd know who was wrong, and who was right.
Religion and its fear tactics.

Nonsense

The decision to change ones life is not some dramatic accepting jesus and crying

It's as simple as deciding to do good

Go to the thread and see those young men counting their days without masturbation that is impressive

Instead of this falsehood open a thread let people start counting to their days without sin

The decision to change is as simple as that

Stop making everything a big drama

The church has ruined christianity just as the mosque ruined true islam
I love ur last sentence... extremism has destroyed religion everyone believes he/she is holier...plus everything is about decision once you decide and stand by it it's braver than any religion teaching or doctrine

Why exactly would I go to "Christ"? isn't this Jesus a god all many Africans believe in but the Jews don't? The last time religious census was conducted in Israel they had 2% Christians while Muslims made up 14% https://www.pewresearch.org/fact-tank/2016/03/08/key-findings-religion-politics-israel/

these are people whose ancestors lived during the time and saw this Jesus live and die but they don't believe he was dying for them

a Nigerian, however, read from a book and concluded that 98% of the Jews are wrong because logic favours storytelling over experiencing something, Amirite you must know Obasanjo more than the people living with and around him because you read Punch newspapers and check internet for news about him.

The worst part is the book they read and conclude on is a slavery endorsing book handed to their ancestors by their pink skinned slavemasters. a book that didnt even acknowledge your existence; or where in your Jewish mythology book called Bible is it written that Noah left israel, traveled down to the deep jungles of Africa to warn your forefathers of an impending "global" flood?

Coming to Christ for me would be a middle finger to common sense and a welcome sign to stupidity
This is deep & sophisticated. I love ur insightfulness

For those finding it difficult to overcome temptations:

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
Romans 8:1, NASB

Today, I want to talk about how you can have a victorious thought life. My friend, the solution to temptations, sinful desires and thoughts is found in the very first verse of Romans 8: “Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (By the way, some Bible translations, like the New King James Version, go on to say “who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” This was added by the later Bible translators. In the oldest manuscripts of the New Testament available today, the Greek simply states, “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”)

You may experience temptations and sinful thoughts from time to time, but right in the midst of that temptation, you need to know this: There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Notice that this verse is in the present tense. Right now, even if at this very moment, sinful thoughts are going through your mind, there is no condemnation because you are IN CHRIST JESUS! Are we then to sit still and entertain those sinful thoughts? Of course not.

Sin cannot take root in a person who is full of the consciousness that he is righteous in Christ. You cannot stop birds from flying over your head, but you can certainly stop a bird from building a nest on your head. In the same way, you cannot stop temptations, sinful thoughts and desires from passing through your mind, but you can certainly stop yourself from acting on these temptations, sinful thoughts and desires. How? By confessing at the very moment of temptation that you are the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!

The power of Jesus to overcome every temptation kicks in when you remain conscious that even at the point of temptation, Jesus is still with you and that you are righteous in Him apart from your works (Romans 4:6)! When you do that, you reject the condemnation for the temptation that you faced. You now have the power of Christ to rise above your temptation and to rest in your righteous identity in Christ apart from your works. That, beloved, is the overcoming life in Christ!

Re: What's That Sin That Prevents You From Coming To Christ? by tsar(m): 5:51pm On Jan 03, 2021
It is not sin that prevents us from coming to Christ. It is GUILT which suggests an unworthiness of Christ's GRACE and MERCY to the reluctant sinner.

Redemption of Sinners is Christ's mandate and its why he'll leave the flock for the lost sheep. It is now left for the sheep to not dwell in his seeming unworthiness but instead focus on Christ's gesture of love and come to the fold regardless how far along he is in sin. After all, it is only in Christ's presence that sin is absolved and sinful habits broken.

Sin kept us from God and not from Christ. It is why people like Mary Mangdalene was saved and not stoned (which would be the case in the pre-messiah era). Christ's era is that of mercy and grace hence sin has become inconsequential. What matters is the sinner's will/need to heal; his brokenness to ask for redemption; his ability to crawl back when he slips.

And he will slip as "all HAVE sinned and all WILL sin". All he needs is to hold on to anchor of penance and his is good. Asking for forgiveness never gets old with Christ.

But your Cain left the first man and woman, who are his parents to "Land of nod" where he got married? you realise Noah came lots of generations later?
Did you notice the Bible didn't mention any name of female children like that....

However, the events of live that happened over a period of 2000yrs was narrated between 10 pages of a book, can you imagine how much it left out?

On the other hand, my brother. Believe whatever you like. It's your life. It's not my job to try to persuade you.
