You have not interviewed most Nigerians (at least 70%) to make that conclusion, when you do, please let me know your findings.

marvin906:

I ask again why do. Most Nigerians think all their problems will dissappear when they travel to Canada

Since you think so let me rephrase why do most people on nairaland think that way

Because... Canada is a much better country than Nigeria when it comes to almost every index that measures living standards... so it makes sense for them to believe that their lives would be much better living there.

I came to Poland and in this short space, I have realised how messed the Nigerian system is. It doesn't build her youth for success, it destroys them. Here, we're hopeful for tomorrow as there's light at the end of the tunnel. We can see it, and it is for this we put in hard work

Pls what of work permit, any idea?
Thanks

If everyone runs away from Nigeria who will stay and fix Nigeria?

Here is me thinking of relocating to Nigeria soon.
You're already well-to-do, and most likely have the second passport that can serve as shock-absorber if worse comes to worst.

Nigerians can lie and pretend as if they are so patriotic. I bet with everyone here that has contributed one thing or the other to this migration discussion that everyone of you wouldn't even think it twice before accepting to migrate to Canada or any of the western world to have a better future for yourself and your family including even the Fulani abokis + Boko Harams guys too....

Everybody desire a beautiful living where things work and human life is much appreciated and well nurtured. I say to all of you hypocrites saying otherwise that you too crave for a better society where the reward for your labour will be well appreciated without sweat or cry, without any godfathers or bribery. The difference between the western world is the value to human lives and well being.

One day, Nigeria will be better but presently, Nigeria is not worth dying for and if you are so convinced that you are the Messiah to rescue Nigeria from the grip of these rapists of leaders and Politicians, that's very appreciative and we say Kudos to you. However, I support mass migration to a better society and a better living, just be legit in your hustle abroad, be dedicated towards a self improvement of your self and family and always remember that one day Nigeria will be good and by then, Nigeria will have a reason to call you to come home and showcase your expertise. That golden call might be you or your future grandchildren left behind and living that good life in the western world. Time I say, determine when that opportunity will come when that glorious call will be made. ..Till then my people....travel enmass, go for that better lives and escape from this self destructive country call Nigeria. That's my candid advice.....

Thank you! wink

Look, this is my advice for Nigerians in Canada and those who are on their way there. I wish you the best in Canada cool cool cool.

1. Don't compete for office jobs with white Canadians and other white immigrants.
2. Focus on Blue Collar jobs like Plumbing, Gas Engineering, Carpentry, House Building, Painting of Houses, Cleaning Business e,g Cleaning Homes, Offices and Restaurants in a Professional Way. Get some basic skills in Carpentry and Plumbing before leaving Nigeria. You can also learn cake making and catering before leaving Naija. All these Vocational jobs are a GOLDMINE in Canada cool cool cool cool.
3. Try as much as possible to be Self Employed or own your Business. You will make more money that way.
4. Learn how to buy and sell things on Ebay Canada and Kijiji. Kijiji is local to Canada. You can also sell on Ebay.com to Americans while you are in Canada.
5. Engage in Business as soon as you can save up some money. Don't work for others after 2 years in Canada.
6. Look for what you can get in Canada cheaply and ship them by Sea to Nigeria. Sell these things and make money from them. Handsome money can be made this way.
7. Don't live in the crowded Provinces like Ontario or Alberta in Canada. Go to Provinces like Manitoba, Quebec or Prince Edward Island and start a Cleaning or Carpentry Business there. Cleaning business can make you a FORTUNE.
8. Trust in God and Jesus Christ smiley smiley smiley smiley.
9. With your Canadian Passport, you should be travelling to Asia to source for products you can sell in Canada and the USA.
10. There are some dirty jobs and odd jobs that can make you serious money in Canada. Remember, BILLS are high in Canada. House Rent is HIGH and taxes are not low. Go to a Province where you can get cheap housing. And start a business in that Province.
11. Lastly, log on to YOUTUBE.COM and watch interviews granted by Mike Rowe. He does a lot of Dirty Jobs and he makes lots of money from them. Have the Mike Rowe Mentality.

Cheers cool cool cool cool cool cool cool.
I love this!

I loooove stories like this, you know why?

It sells hope to the hopeless, dreams to the visionless and riches to the poverty-stricken.

A post like yours will ganner a lot of likes, you know why? because too many people are hopelessly stuck in Nigeria and sadly will never get the opportunity to leave (despite secretly wishing they could), so instead, they will desperately hold on to the Nigerian dream; ...a rags to riches story, where a suffering man makes it big and gets to shine on all the poverty-stricken fellows around him - he becomes a big man and oppresses others with his wealth, driving his big cars on severely damaged roads, fencing his elaborate mansion to protect himself from 'hoodlums and riff raffs', wining and dining with governors and senators who have looted the country dry (like your 'friend' with sanwo-olu), whilst calling the hopeless masses "lazy youths".

I also love how your "friends" all travelled abroad before they came back to Nigeria to "make it big" .. how convenient! smiley
Nice reply. smiley

They have flushed out many of them. And the new ones that might want to spring up will be dealt with by law enforcement agencies. Canada isn't Malaysia or Indonesia, cultists and Yahoo boys wouldn't last too long there before the get jailed or deported. Their law enforcement is just as good as that of USA and UK.

I'm very happy to hear this!

as fun as Nigerians that's travelling want us to believe abroad is/was, they've their own disadvantages too just like Nigeria

as it is today in USA, one drug addict can enter where you're catching fun and started shooting anyhow

I'm not leaving Nigeria and I don't have any hope of sending my kids abroad too for school, they'll school in best private universities in this country

Or Fulani herdsmen stopping you on a highway from Lagos to Ibadan kidnapping and killing you when the ransom is not paid on time or wan tanker of fuel catching fire to burn people behind in thier cars in a horrible lagos gridlock.

I ask again why do. Most Nigerians think all their problems will dissappear when they travel to Canada

Please keep quiet ...go and check very well on Nigerians migrating to Canada..most are high earners in oil and gas, banking and telecom industries and most delivered all their kids in US while working in Nigeria...do they sound like poor people or people who cant afford the small comfort in Nigeria with regards to no hospital, good education,no light or water ..ofcourse they can afford to power their generator 24/7 but is that all they want in life?..They made the move just for safety and security of their lives, easy access to common necessities if life without having to suffer for it..please remind me which hospital in Nigeria you will access free medical services or free education for your kikds or even get child support benefits for your kids till age 16yrs...i know arguement will be about tax...but Nigerians pay tax more than Canadians, how? you pay your income tax and then privide all other services as well by yourself even after paying the tax, you have to buy fuel to pump water to shower, you have to buy fuel to have light, you have to hire security guard at your gate to try to send alarm for you to hide inside the ceiling when the bad boys come to collect their tithe because even the security guard cant stop them..but Nigerians in canada dont have to employ a security guard, 911 i just a press of the phone and the police are with you...

Your politicians all have thier families stationed abroad waiting for the final day Nigeria will crash which the process has begun for them to run away and leave you guys behind...the same people that have messed up Nigeria. Be giving yourself false hope. Nigeria is a youthful age destroyer, no wonder Nigerians once they leave, you hear them breaking grounds in their adopted countries because they have been given the opportunites to thrive without long leg and god fatherism...Nigerians without the money that politicians steal in Nigeria have gine into politics in Canada and won even defeating incubent white counterparts without any Tinubu backing...which in Nigeria they dont even have the money to fight for common ward councillors..

Not everyone will migrate to Canada, its a matter of choice and priorities of life...goodluck to those in Canada and goodluck to those staying back in Nigeria..we wish them a happy stay back.

Relocating to Canada is a huge prison break for so many Nigerians...congratulations to them, its not easy to escape from an insane society.

There are a lot of scammers here, please be careful...
Look out for the ones that preach you don't need agent, you can do it your self with a guide.
They convince you to pay 2500 for the guide.
Then they make you believe them to process it for a token of 150k with a deposit of 50 k
By the time you pay the deposit, they tell you to wait for 60 days excluding weekends, and that is it.
They stop picking your calls when the time is close...
Just be careful.... Thieves everywhere....
