aminu114: Destiny's differs exactly what people don't understand. You just don't travel out because other people are traveling out. And for that joining of hands you said there. It cracked me up. Join fire. No one is willing even the government are not willing. I'm young but I've sustained intelligence enough to know that no one really cares about this country. Most people making moves to change this country are those that have been abroad then decide to return to make a change because they're now well equipped and their mindset to some extent has changed. Love and light I pray thee. |

NO, there are NOT all the same. Canada's homicide rate (from guns) is more than 7 times lower than USA's. Nigeria has always banned private ownership of guns, yet our homicide rate (from guns) is more than the U.S.A (thanks to kidnappings, banditry, armed robbery and terrorism). int0x80: 1 Like 1 Share |

Those kinds of people are whom Canada can grudgingly accept... why? Because they are rich! The wives and kids would NOT end up doing prostitution, scam or prostitution to survive... why? Again because they are rich, their rich family members would likely keep sending money to them for upkeep. A poor person wouldn't get any financial assistance from back home, so he/she is likely to engage in crime. Now, can you see why Canada hand-picks whom they allow into their country? britiko: |

TheCongo2:I'm telling you sincerely. They did. He couldn't his have been lying too cos he's told us the story several times especially whenever he wanted to motivate us. I worked briefly with him before I went for my nysc cos NYSC had a little delay in mobilising us then. In order not to stay home doing nothing, I had to join him. As a successful man, who had nothing to lose or gain by telling is the story, I believed him 100% 2 Likes |

TheCongo2:some Americans can be blunt a times , especially when they see an African man wanting to take their ideas or technology outside of USA. Their mentality is changing now especially since Obama became US president. Many of them didn't believe we too were innovative. My brother is a medical technologist. He wrote to a major medical device manufacturer in US for partnership in Nigeria. They didn't reply him at first. He called them, they promised responding but never did. He had to go there in person. He met their sales director who confirmed they actually received his mails but for some reason, they didn't feel it was necessary because they weren't ready to have a distributor in Nigeria as of that time. I don't know why they're like that. Reluctantly, they considered him but with price list higher than what they gave to their people . Some Japanese companies behave this way too He was to sell an AED to a leading oil company here when he got to know of this. After giving them his own quote the company being an American firm reached the USA manufacturer directly, just to confirm my brother was their agent in Nigeria as he claimed, without him knowing. They also forwarded the price he gave them in USD. They reached my brother and gave him like 25% discount more, across board. At times, it's difficult to penetrate them but when you eventually do, na Partnership for life because they'd pamper you with lots of benefits including training. 4 Likes |

> Nigerians! The cheap subsidized (sometimes free) education medical doctors get in Nigeria leave their US and UK (not sure about Canadian) counterparts with six figures in loan debt (in the US, an average of $250K for a medical education). Anyway, Nigerians have a funny notion of the concept of citizenship. They think it’s only limited to rights and privileges, but ignore the rights and responsibilities part of the social contract (which, like all contracts, is predication on consideration). Canada was built by Canadians, and the present condition (and the ultimate future) of Nigeria will be a culmination of the collective actions of ALL Nigerians (either by commission or omission). “Nigeria” is not a stand-alone entity, it is Nigerians! > 2 Likes 1 Share |

JustAPhase: In a way you contradicted yourself here. The 2 striking examples you gave, your Uncle and the ocean transport guy, had to go abroad FIRST in order to see opportunities to bring back home to make money. A strong argument can be made for the fact that they may have been far worse off if they hadn't travelled. Are you actually discouraging young Nigerians from hustling to go abroad so that they can reorientate/educate/enlighten themselves and spot lucrative opportunities to bring back and be successful like your uncle? Even if they don't end up bringing back any business idea at least they will be self sufficient and no burden to family members. At least when time for family contribution reach, and with enough notice given, they will be able to meet up. Do you (and most Nigerians) realise that not everyone is cut out to be an entrepreneur, or a successful one for that matter? Imagine how chaotic and do or die it will be if we were all hustling businessesmen? Some peoples gift is to sit down in a laboratory researching and inveting things. Some people nature is to work with and manipulate figures. Others is to work with nature. Abroad they can grow reasonably wealthy with peace of mind without hustling or stealing when they excel in their fields. People like that will be poor and miserable in Nigeria unless they go against their nature to start hustling (or embezzling in some cases) which often ends disastrously. This is where the Nigeria falls short because it is not able to adequately take care of its citizens unless you are a die hard or hustler or very well connected. Also do you realise that there are a hell lot of clean hardworking Nigerians abroad who are worth a few millions £ $? Yes private jet will be nice but they are ok that they are able to afford all that they need, have very decent savings and also able to invest in small projects or business in Nigeria. Not everyone is interested in making obscene money. Finally in 2018, migrant remittances to Nigeria equaled US$25 billion, representing 6.1% of GDP. That's a hell lot of very vital support they are giving to Nigeria. 7 Likes |

Roughly 100,000 Nigerians in Canada, we need to target a million in the next ten years. It is a huge achievement for Nigeria as a country , when Nigerians leave for Canada. Diasporas are contributing to Nigerian economy invariably via foreign remittance. It is all hype to overrate the number of Nigerians who have left in 5 years, Nigeria has a population of 200 million and produces graduates enmasse. Anytime a professional leaves for Canada, (s)he has indirectly provided a job for a jobless graduate. 5 Likes 1 Share |

JesusDWay: The federal government have intelligence on the cultists. They were broken up, and those who weren't citizens were deported, and those who are were given long sentences. I know of a girl who's boyfriend got deported. I also know of a guy who's doing 20 years for 419 and drug trafficking in the Toronto area. Canada is ready for any lawless individuals who wants to turn this place into naija. It won't work. 2 Likes |

They have flushed out many of them. And the new ones that might want to spring up will be dealt with by law enforcement agencies. Canada isn't Malaysia or Indonesia, cultists and Yahoo boys wouldn't last too long there before the get jailed or deported. Their law enforcement is just as good as that of USA and UK. JesusDWay: |

marvin906: Pls for the sake of clarity, not everybody travels for the sake of making millions. Are you safe in this country as a person? If you end up making all the millions in Nigeria, can you move about without escorts? People just want peaceful society devoid of insecurities. Life is not valued here in Nigeria. That alone is enough for one to make a move. Pls let's be guided! 2 Likes |
