Kehinde was found on the floor of her room shaking while the smell of the poison she took could be perceived.

A 23-year-old woman and employee of Shoprite in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Jumoke Kehinde, has reportedly committed suicide after being suspended from work.

Kehinde was found dead on New Year’s Eve at her apartment along Oda Road in the Kajola area of Akure.

She was said to have allegedly taken a substance suspected to be Sniper, a pesticide, after being suspended from work.

One of the organisation’s managers, who gave his name as Taiwo, told journalists that the deceased reported late for work and some other staff members on the fateful day.

He said, “It is expected that anyone who comes late has to wait outside before being allowed in and suspended. She was seen arranging her table, getting ready for the day’s sales, and looking happy. But she later left the mall around 11 am after receiving her suspension letter.

“Around 4 pm, a distress call was received in the office that she was not feeling okay. One of the management staff members went to check on her. Kehinde was found on the floor of her room shaking while the smell of the poison she took could be perceived. But no empty can was seen anywhere, and she was rushed to the hospital.

“After some time at the hospital, she was declared dead. One of her relatives said she did not show any sign of depression.

“She was suspended for coming late that day. She was told to go home. Then, she went back home.

“We all know that when you come late, you will be suspended for a few days without pay.”

The deceased’s body was said to have been deposited at the morgue.

It's 100% safe to say her boss is innocent of her death.

She was suspended because she violated a rule.

Her decision to commit suicide remains her business and not a reason to condemn the person that suspended her.

There is more to this. One can't just commit suicide because of suspension from work.
Find it hard to believe.

There is more to this, why would she kill herself because she was suspended, its not as if she was sacked. RIP to her, barely a week into the new year, so many death.

She probably committed suicide out of depression as that job was her only source of income n livelihood.
Guys always talk to someone irrespective of the situation, if I had met her or knew about her job loss, for sure I would have assisted here at my company and also give her some cash to maintain.

Eya,bad government inflicting harsh conditions resulting to this.

Even though some people are more resilient and strong-hearted than others, I still believe that no situation should warrant the act of committing suicide. Life is generally challenging and not fair to many, but surmounting hardship and problems of life is what makes us a winner.
