Subzero047:As in eh. Pirlo was one of the best things to happen to football when it comes to controlling the game and distributing the ball However, that generation had some insane Midfielders. Pirlo, Zidane, Paul Scholes, Xabi Alonso, Ballack. These guys were masters of the game. |

How come I never see any of Onuachu's goals? I search the whole internet they are not there |

TheGoodJoe:Pirlo messed up Ballack in that game, as for Paul Scholes and Xavi Alonso I don't rate them in the same bracket |

Subzero047:You are yet to get in the Paul Scholes groove. Men that guy is up there with Pirlo. Some may even argue tactically, he was ahead of Pirlo. |

Subzero047:Zinedine Zidane: "My toughest opponent? Scholes of Manchester. He is the complete midfielder. Scholes is undoubtedly the greatest midfielder of his generation." Andrea Pirlo in his autobiography: "The only great English midfielder in my career was Paul Scholes. He has elegance in him. Others were pretenders." Luis Figo: "I’m star-struck when I see Paul Scholes because you never see him. On the pitch you can’t catch him. Off the pitch he disappears." |

TheGoodJoe:No no I wouldn't take Pirlo slander this evening, I liken Paul Scholes to Ruben Neves their long shots overenhance their ability I think Scholes is very overrated |
| Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by TheGoodJoe(m): 11:52pm On Jan 06, 2021 |
Subzero047:"In the last 15 to 20 years the best central midfielder that I have seen - the most complete - is Scholes," Xavi said. "I have spoken with Xabi Alonso about this many times. Scholes is a spectacular player who has everything. "He can play the final pass, he can score, he is strong, he never gets knocked off the ball and he doesn't give possession away. If he had been Spanish, then maybe he would have been valued more." |

TheGoodJoe:Diaz maybe the best defensive buy for Man city, Stones has shown determination to overtake Laporte and I think it’s because of the competition, Gundogan has proven been proving me wrong of recent |

TheGoodJoe:Steffen was very calm with his feet I think he learned from Ederson or Guardiola scouted it when he bought him? |

Subzero047:I think he had the talent from scouting reports but Guardiola and his team have been working on him to develop it further. Coupled with training everyday with Ederson. It really rubbed off on him well. |

Subzero047: I feel Diaz working in City has affected Stones in a Positive way. I think he has learnt a lot training with Diaz and it will be tough for Laporte to displace Stones which is hard to believe. |

TheGoodJoe:Yes I think Diaz has affected the whole Man city team, they are not jittery in possession and they calm down in 1-0 leads |

TheGoodJoe:Wow I need him to master coming out for crosses that way he would provide something different to Ederson |

TheGoodJoe:I was hoping Arteta would've eventually used his links to snatch Stones away from City. Too late for that now... |

edi287:You are right on the money on that. That would have been a brilliant steal. He could still work on getting Ake who I feel is quality too and very versatile. Although I feel Pep has serious plans for him in the near future. |

Salute to the People's Elephant. The only beam of light in the NPFL If you couldn't do it then no other Nigerian club can. It is a shame to see the extent to which our club football has degenerated.

Icon4s:U guys are too reliant on Victor Mboama. He got injured and u lost 3 nut away from home. U allow Anemena to go without bringing in at least a top 10 defender to replace him. This is the best defender in the NPFL 2 years running, that was inexcusable. Rivers United are still in a CAF competition. They are the super team in the league. Their first xi is just so good, they even have a good mixture of foreign players. Add to that Aguda and Anemena who are top 5 players in the NPFL. That team is dang good. Even though as an Akwa fan I hate them ![]() |
