Lawyer Advice please. by eddy2farm(op):
People In the house, especially lagos lawyer I need your help.
My brother issue quit notice to one of his tenant. The notice was issued six month to his yearly expiration which expired on the 31/12)2020.
The tenant is saying that the notice is suppose to be after the expiration of his yearly rent which I tink is not true.
My brother went to the human rights for the issue.
Please did my brother issue the notice on the right time ? And what should he do?
Please the house is in Lagos .

In the meanwhile, let your brother let the tenant know that you're going to reinovate the flat ASAP.

what he did was right,if the 6 months notice has expired,take all the necessary documents to a lawyer to file for eviction notice for you,,issuing the six months notice to quit within a yearly tenancy is completely legal.

Nooo apply for court ordered eviction and the tenant will be served and he would open his defence in court if he has any.
