Hi guys thanks for the information shared on this platform, I am grateful.
I would like to know if for the NSE application , the total amount of the 6 months bank statement should be equal to 30000 Cad or there should be 30,000 cad as a closing balance .
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Tre20: 12:21pm On Jan 09, 2021
Pls I need to ask this question... Is it wise to include that my parents are resident of European country and my younger brother is a citizen and their properties purchased in my name as the first son are somehow in my care since they are not in Nigeria. As proof of home tie?

Summe:
Hi everyone,

I got married after submitting my application. Now that I have been approved, how do I go about applying for my husband to join me.

I raised a webform to update my marital status already, but I don't know what visa to apply for him to join me.

Thank you in advance.

Your spouse would apply for spousal open work permit (SOWP). You need to provide legal documents to prove that you're legally married to him.

You need the following documents to establish relationship with your spouse (hubby)

PROOF OF RELATIONSHIP DOCUMENTS
1. Marriage Certificate
2. Newspaper change of name
3. Throw back family pictures
4. Snap shot of WhatsApp video call or messages for the last six months (if any).
5. Wedding photos.

I hope this information is helpful to your enquiry.

Yaaaay. Glad to have you back o.
I just got my ielts result now. I wrote the CBT day before yesterday.
Kindly help me clarify if the bank statement for MBS is six months or 12 months.
In my own understanding, I believe they asked for a minimum of six months with at least 1 year of running the account but my friend is saying they meant one year bank statement.

Please help.

@Frankrobbin, I also sent an email in December. Please respond to it as my deadline is 16th. cry cry

Do you know how long eligibility review takes?
oladapo2020:

Hello,
From what I can see here, they have not started reviewing your eligibility. That means you will have to be patient. Although things are becoming faster these days. Pray that your eligibility starts in few days and you get your approval. You can send webforms as well like a week interval that is if your application has passed normal processing time. If your application is still within normal processing times, send webforms sparingly

Please I need clarification.
Is proof of fund required for Canadian study permit if you are admitted to a fully funded PhD program?
Or whats the required proof of funds with full scholarship?

Normally, it shouldn't be required if the funding covers everything, but I've seen some cases where they reject applicants on the basis of financial assets because they didn't submit their personal SoA. My advice is that you should submit your SoA but the amount in it needn't be too much - just show enough to prove that you can take care of miscellaneous expenses by yourself.

If you don't have the money at all, you could also get a close relation
to "gift" you money and then explain the nature of the gift in your S.O.P. However, I wouldn't advise you to get a sponsor or to borrow a huge amount of money. It's always best to keep your application simple and direct. Submitting too many things may come off as desperation, especially if you're a fully funded PhD student. Too many documents also means the VO would have more things to scrutinize and there could be loopholes you hadn't thought about. Just keep things simple and submit only essential documents that prove your eligibility, home ties, and proof of funds.

Finally, and perhaps most importantly, package your home ties very well. Whether you have all the funding in the world or not, prove to IRCC that you have material, economic, social, and family ties to Nigeria.

Short answer is No. You can't even comfortably 'visit' Canada with 700K, much less study for any length of time with that amount.

lovecares34:
I don't know, that's why I am asking. I know someone that travelled to UK with 700k they worked and planned everything out for d guy and he moved. spent about 280k for flight. So I think a way to relocate to Canada is possible but I don't know how. I want to move asap

Please guys I need an answer

So it's actually a 1 year MBS statement I sent to them, not 6 months.
And also, the limits of the account balance in the account at the time of submission should be 30k CAD. Though it's just always safer to have in excess of 30K CAD, about 10m Naira or so.
As it's never a bad idea to have more than needed, just make sure you don't have less than 30k CAD.

Sounds like a reasonable home tie to me. But as a general rule of thumb, don't lie!!

If IRCC asks (and they will) about your parents' and siblings' residence and citizenship, just say the truth. It's for their records and your application won't be denied for that.

In case anyone wants to send additional documents for the NSE, below is my sample mail I used sent to both the webforms & emails addresses.

Respected Sir/Ma,

I hope this mail meets you well.

My name is xyzz, I am contacting you with respect to a submitted Study-Permit application. My Application Number is xzy and Unique Client Identifier (UCI) number is abc.

I submitted the normal application documents, however on researching, I discovered the Nigerian Student Express (NSE) route and that it presented a faster route for processing applications.
Hence, I will be extremely grateful to have my application processed via the NSE route, as my school resumes January 2021.

To this effect, I have attached the two main documents (listed below) required for the NSE application route, alongside other supporting documents listed below:

1. MyBankStatement Certificate for my Sponsor (containing Ticket-number and password)
2. International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Certificate (Overall Score of xyz)
3. School fees deposit evidence, Salary Account and professional certifications (files merged together).
4. Addendum to explain source of funds.

Thank you very much for taking your time to review my application. Have a wonderful day ahead.

Best Regards
Xyz

Do you know how long eligibility review takes?
There's typically no fixed time for eligibility review I believe, but I think it's good advice to order your GCSM online asap, in case you feel the eligibility is taking too much time.

I saw online somewhere where they said ordering a gcms can affect your application positively, as the person that's getting it would "bring your file to the surface" and it's likely to get actioned on based on that.

So sometimes before people get their GCSM notes, they'd have already gotten a reply or application update.
Not sure tho, as no two applications are the same. But it never hurts to try the gcms thingy for peace of mind.

Thanks Fratermathy - very lucid as usual. I will add a few thoughts here.

Most (not all) PhD candiadates from our part of the world are advanced in age (above 30/35 years of age). I also know those under 25 years but very few and between. Therefore, if you are an established candidate - with family, kids, businesses, etc - please show your plan for the family while you are away. How will the family survive while you are away? Does your spouse have a source of verifiable income to cope in your absence? If no, have you made plans for their sustenance? What are the plans - even a simple explanation that shows you have thought about it may be adequate. So the trick is balancing the art of submitting enough documentation without being desparate but also making sure you cover all possible bases in this regard.

Yes, most fully funded PhD applicants have better chance of visa approval, don't take if for granted; do the work. Examples exist that shows even with full funding it is not an automatic approval. You also need to pass a different test of proof when the funding is from Nigeria (say government source) vs. Canadian source. The former requires more work to achieve than the latter.

Ire oh! It shall end in praise.
