Aconomist:Lagos can get natural gas via the West Africa Gas Pipeline, Lagos doesn't need coal, and palm oil can be shipped. The only benefit from an East-West railway will be the industries in Eastern Nigeria. A Lagos to Kano railway will open up the North and reduce poverty. |

sulaak:That's exactly what the USA does, which is why they are the heaviest indebted nation on earth. In return, they got a developed country. Development is not free. Someone's gotta pay for it. |

sulaak:So the project is just charity for the North? Why should lagos have to ship palm oil when it is produced in nearby Benin. And Lagos DOES need coal for cement production. The coal is currently shipped from South Africa. |

rossoki:There is no such thing as a "foreign currency loan" in the U.S. The United States can basically print its own money with a less than one percent interest rate. Nigeria, on the other hand, risks currency devaluation and exorbitant interest rates. |

Nigerians and ignorance is at an insane level ..please if u have no clue of how something works..do the internet a favour and keep quiet... Abuja Kaduna railine is currently congested...if u go to idu ..u can wait for hours and not get ticket...just weeks ago the fair almost triples yet people are still paying and the rail running at maximum capacity...the same thing will happen to Lagos Ibadan rail line... Inshort it best to have the entire length Completed (Lagos to Kano to Maradi) to generate massive income from both freight and passenger travel... Ajaokuta Kano gas pipeline is not a failed project..the future of Nigeria is gas..as oil is gradually fading..we have more gas reserves than oil... because of the environmental implication of oil and it product... everything is being switched to gas cuz it way cleaner and very cheap..that one of the reason why FG wants to convert many vehicles to run on gas... The pipeline is part of an integrated African pipeline system that stretches down to north Africa passing the sea down to Europe..this will allow Nigeria export gas to Europe in the future..the way it does with oil today.. winterfell007: |

Now that there is no railline...has that stopped the Fulani from entering the SW... So Fulani is the only tribe in Kano..or ur telling me they will carry cows board trains... We are talking about moving all this cargo and trailer stuff from the roads and making them move via rail ... some of y'all think through ur anus leisuretym: |
| Re: FG Awaits $5.3 Billion Chinese Loan For Ibadan-kano Rail Line by Tekrify(m): 11:55pm On Jan 09, 2021 |
Think about what ur saying...87 to 90 percent of Nigeria poverty comes from the north..it even more..that to tell u that...the south isn't poor no matter how to see it...that figure is from the world bank..so u will be happy if government decides to spend 5.3bn DOLLARS on Hausa Fulani to get them out of poverty than to build modern infrastructure that benefits every Nigerian.... Use ur brain abeg... If u hear that government wants to do such to lift poverty in Nigeria..which means more than 80 percent will be spent in the north.... Am not sure u will be happy either... Stainlezzking:I said same few days ago about the one they signed into bill, trillions of naira for infrastructural development which we all knw it will end in paperwork as usual. my argument , if 1.5 b dollars can built buj khalifa from scratch to the finish, why not use the 46 billion dollars for infrastructural development and build 6 buj khalifa replicas in each of the 6 geopolitical zones, build like light electric rail shuttles like the one in Dubai , it won't cost them that much , they will still have enough Balance from that 45b dollars to squander, everything about this current dispensation weak me , but I still can get it how common NIGERIANS are not even complaining , that's to tell u they are suffering and smiling, dying in pain |

Tekrify:The level of ignorance is so high, driven by primordial sentiments. The PHC-Maiduguri and Ibadan-Kano rail lines still cross many Southern cities. Lagos-Calabar rail is in the works and will eventually be done. The other day, Amaechi was remonstrating with the Southern Reps and Senators not to be impediments to the actualisation of the Lagos-Calabar rail project but they shoved him aside, now they will turn back to accuse him of not prioritising it. The AKK pipeline is the third in a series of major gas pipeline networks to be built in the country. That overall gas plan was put in place in 2008 and the implementation has progressed since then. The first two pipelines run from the Niger Delta to Lagos (completed and in use for years now) and the second is the one from the East somewhere in Imo State traversing all across to join the first pipeline in the West (almost completed). The third is the AKK pipeline now approved and to be constructed, within the overall plan of industrialising the country via gas, put in place in 2008. But of course the ignorant ones will not have that background and jump at the mention of AKK as another Northern agenda. My plea is for this govt to ignore the noise and forge ahead with their infrastructure plans. It will be clear soon enough to everyone about where we are going. |
