Please I want to get a sim. At the moment, I stay with a friend, so I have access to WiFi. Which would you advise I get? Contract orpag as you go? Please I need the cheapest rate and bundles ever. Thanks for your help. |

Try Lycamobile, Giffgaff or Lebara for PayG. With £5-10 monthly, you get about 1,000 minutes, 2-4gb data and 100 mins to about 40 countries (Nigeria not included). For contract, you need to have been resident in the UK for a certain period of time but if you meet the criteria, you can get one eg. Vodafone has an unlimited national call limit with 5gb at £12.75 ELff: 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Hello House, I am thinking of relocating to the UK with my wife via a Tier 4 (work and study) visa. Please from experience, what advice can be given on the best location to study/reside as I will be working to support the family while she is studying? Because this location determines the availability of jobs and getting employment. Although she will also do some menial jobs with the leftover of the 20hrs given to her. |

Contact your school/employer to find out if they can help follow up with this. If not, you're left with contacting and following up with UKVI and being patient. ricaabrams: 1 Like |

ELff:If your friend is willing let him get a contract for you in his name, and after a few months in the country they can switch the name on the contract to yours. They'll need to do a credit check then, but hopefully you'd be able to pass checks for sim only contract. 1 Like |

ELff: Giffgaff gives you unlimited texts and unlimited minutes and 500MB data at 6 quid a month, pay as you go. Lebara is 5 quid a month, same unlimited texts and calls to UK numbers and I think 2 gig data (check). Most telcos allow you to order a SIM online and they'll post it to you at no cost. You'll have to be creditchecked for a contract. 3 Likes 3 Shares |

My UK people, I’m back again ooo. Justwise, Bourne007 et al........Don’t mind my moniker Wanna know the information that surrounds the situation below based on the past post study work visa. Applicant A gets a psw visa after studies. Applicant B is the dependant of applicant A and also gets a dependent psw visa. Before the expiry of their visa, applicant B switches (in or out of the country as the case may be as at then) and is now on a student visa (post graduate) while applicant A switches to become the dependant. Will applicant B be qualified to apply for a psw visa at the end of his/her study and will applicant A be able to be a dependant of applicant B on the psw visa. What do you guys think? |

ricaabrams: I am currently facing the same issue. Been here since November. You just have to be patient. Use the reporting functionality on the website and wait for 20 working days. You can then call UKVI after those 20 working days if you do not get any response. Don't be tempted to use the reporting tool multiple times as your initial reporting would be wiped off and the 20 working days will start counting all over. This I was told when I called UKVI 4 Likes 3 Shares |

@vooom Have you considered getting bus pass. I don’t know which part you are in, but since there is lockdown in the uk and you won’t be able to move round, I will advice you set all your journey for one day. That day you get a “day bus pass”, set out early and do all what you want to do that day with the daily bus pass. That way you spend only mayb 4.6p or 5p and do all your runnings. Becos this one wey you won start to learn bicycle for road, make e no turn “Egugun be careful” matter ooo. |

I need an advice please, where can I get educational tablets for kids 3/5 years old, I bought one from China the last time my friend traveled but it did not last long before it got spoilt. Now I need 2 quality ones, is it advisable to buy from Nigeria or here. If it's better to buy here, what's the quality and the price range like. Thanks in advance for your constant guidance |
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by wallg123: 8:58am On Jan 12, 2021 |
tushqueen: Go on Amazon and buy the fire Hd tablets... They are loaded with educational apps and games for kids of all ages. You can also monitor how long the get on the tablet and set daily targets for them. It is highly recommendable especially during this home schooling era of COVID-19 2 Likes 3 Shares |

tushqueen: I would say an ipad as it older in the market than the rest of the other tablet ...... meaning you probably get more app options to download free or subscription based 1 Like |
