60+? There's a case similar to yours, although a woman in her 60s too and a teenage girl.

Maybe your boss might be sad about the fact that his time on Earth is almost up anytime he looks at u, he thinks about his past and he regrets mistakes he made when he was younger. Just make sure you learn all u can before u part ways with your boss.

This might also be a sign that your training has come to an end. It means u have completed your training. Three years is a long time

Your oga is a bitter man, i pray he change. My oga is not like that, he is a muslim and many servant are christian both past nd present. Am in my 5th year nw still left with 1 nd sme months. He lost trust in me before bt i have gain it back. when I was living with my elder brother , chai i saw hell.. sotey if I was coming back from work ( I was working in a farm, he was working in a construction company ) I’ll be so scared to go home cos na another round of wahala..he go complain say I sleep too much , I watch tv too much , I eat too much. He never commended me before , he would always find faults in my actions .. na so so punching and tongue lashing , and I no one go back to our areas back home cos all of my guys don get admission na only me remain and my mama self go Dey use style style enter me with word say make I find something doing .. so I just decided to keep up with him till I went to lag then I got admission and left for school ..
but I thank God all na story now.
Days ago, he came to where I am living and he was wowed by what he saw , at this age I’ve achieved atleast something he didn’t achieve until his 30s.. he is proud of me and when we reminisced the pass we both laughed it off.. I can’t count how much I don give him wife and pikins and they all respect me die now ..







My advice to you is that , endure , increase your patience and tolerance.. pray to God to give you the ability to keep and endure his rules and obtain mercy from him.. no go kill yourselves on top issues like that.. bro you still have lots of life challenges ahead, shey naso u one take tackle am ?... you’re not serving him forever, try to do the needful for the time being ..



And the more you go deep into talking about him the more you creating enmity and problems .. save your self the stress and consider how much you’ve suffered for 3 years.. may the lord be with you bro..

Today he said after he got angry for some unknown reason, he told me not to step an inch from where I was.

There were customers outside waiting for me to settle them and some were asking for your change.

I called one to come and collect his change but oga said I should not give him the change but the guy collective the change.

Oga walked out to continue his discussion with someone, only for him to come back and yelling and threatening.

These were his words, translated from Igbo

"I told you not to give him change but you did this, huh?"

Me: "but he was waiting and he collected".....

Him: "you are possessed with an evil spirit, better fight it before it consumes you! Are you the owner of this shop? If not that I'm a Christian... Are you the owner of this shop? I will kill you and take your corpse to the village. I will... You claiming you're stubborn? Huh ".....

Before he was interrupted by a customers...

honestly bro I just had to cut my story so I won’t bore people surfing this page.. i woke up by 4am everyday to prepare food, bath and morning cores..

I did sleep by 11 pm most times at night cos he had a girl friend back then wey Dey find am come at night and I would have to sleep outside on couch till the girl go and he would wake me to go sleep inside... he would go to work by 6:15, I would go to work by 6:30. I would get back by 6 and he mostly got back home by 5, depending on how early we both close at work..

It was not easy for me at all, I developed severe chest pain ..it got to a stage one of the tenants (fortunately he is from same town too) in the house decided to take me from him atleast for the time being, I practically turned shadow of myself .. but now out of all my brothers , I think I’m more closer to him because I gained one thing from me; I learned how to be on my own , I don’t rely on people and I barely go out.. we are good friends now.. .. so bro keep pushing, na just for time being , nothing lasts forever ..

Nwaeje stop complaining, see it as the cross you must bare.. life still have tough challenges ahead I no go lie you.. he no fit kill you all those ones na anger talk ..he gains nothing if he kills you and he would have sent you back to village if he doesn’t want you. You’re still a young boy , face the challenge like say your life depended on it.. endure o. Half knowledge is not good in naija o.. I perfectly understand what you going through but life is it is either get it or die tryin .. person wey go chop honey inside rock , he go work hard.. but if you see that you no fit cope, instead of you to Dey waste your time , it is better you talk to your mama , move away and start from the scratch .. OP, I believe everything u said, I've seen worse cases, but pls be patient, u are almost der. Some bosses always makes demselves appear like demigods, try to act up before the apprentice so that they will have a reason not to settle dem at the end of the day. Just look up to God and make sure u do not insult him in any way.

Are you happy with your life in general?

I don't know what to feel about your story. I have mixed feelings because you were traumatised. Yes, it's important to learn how to be independent and be able to be interdependent in relationships but trauma is not the best teacher. It breaks people down psychologically

What OP is going through right now is psychological abuse. I don't know what impact it will end up having on him but it's not healthy. His boss is very very toxic

As humans, especially young ones, we need a healthy environment to thrive not a dysfunctional one
