Kog45:None of those players have played for the SE, apart from Onuachu, so we can't tell if they'llbe good or bad, my emphasis was on this season's performance so far. Even Osimhen played and tore the Belgian league apart with goals and he is still doing well in the SE. Awoniyi also did well in Belgium, regarding the switch Lookman and Ejaria's switch could be finalized in a couple of months. The most important thing is that Ugbo who is doing well at the moment has expressed interest in playing for us and so is a decent prospect, it's not like we have a luxury of strikers to pick from. We all witnessed and could easily have predicted the result of the second leg game against Sierra Leone when Osimhen was unavailable. Any decent option is a welcome development. 3 Likes |

1realBobby:Victor just need to calm down cos the transfer fee was huge and Napoli fans expectations are high,so better for him to avoid unnecessary distractions. I saw his birthday party picture posted by one his close friends and his explanation on the said party wasn't convincing enough. He is a young man that has it all to be great so is left for him to adjust very well cos I remember his outburst against Punch newspaper which he later apologized. I wish him quick recovery. 2 Likes |

Karlovich: Please we can't just keep suggesting any tom jack and Harry for Super eagles until they're better than the incumbent or proven themselves at a higher league than what we have. Uche agbo might be a talent for the future, but presently, by the virtue of his league, he isn't needed. |

Karlovich: 10 league goals in Epl, Seria and la liga is more valuable than 30 league goals at belgium league. Bundesliga to me is 50/50 I think they're also a farmers league but there's bayern Munich that holds weight |

Karlovich: Are Awoniyi and Akpom our second choice strikers? They don't even make the team besides Awoniyi has been injured for a while and he has 5 goals in a higher rated league My point is he has to do better than he's doing to even be considered for a call up |

Yet Eberechi Eze is still nursing his frivolous dream of playing for England when he could have easily picked a green white green shirt. He needs to go consult with Tomori who is languishing on Chelsea bench with his butt mould Yachambliss: 2 Likes |

Toylove: Aguda is an AMF that can also be deployed on the wings while Anaemena is a big strong no nonsense center back. I don't think they will look out of place with the super eagles especially Anaemena who would add toughness to the side. |

BascoVanVeli:Toylove, as if basco will have a contrary opinion, we have seen it time without number that when ever we invite these homebase to the national team there always use it as a stepping stone to europe. |

BascoVanVeli: I think Rohr needs an assistant who is experienced and conversant with our local football. Salisu Yusuf should have been his assistant and if not for the ban it will be Siasia. The players you just mentioned will add creativity to our midfield and rugedity to our defense The national team is a mixture of 1. Foreign based players (Victor Osimhen, Samuel Chukwueze etc) 2. Foreign born players ( Leon Balogun, Iwobi etc) 3. Players from our local league (like Aguda and co) 4. Youth players (players like Samson Tijani, Akinkunmi amoo etc) What we need is a coach that will blend all these together and form a winning team. You do not marginalize one set of players, rather you synthesize all of them together. I wish Siasia was around. Siasia know how to do well in competitions like chan, u20 etc and he knows how to use and blend our local based players with our foreign players. The issue is that each player brings along their style of play and will be needed at anytime. You need EVERYBODY and not just one set of people. |

Tamunotonye22:Nketiah has never played in Bundesliga Smith Rowe was mostly injured during his spell at Leipzig Sancho and Jude Bellingham are the guaranteed successes on your list. Lookman did well first spell but got benched in his second spell. Reece Oxford has been okay and is only starting to find his feet again recently. Don't know too much about Matondo. |

Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Karlovich: 1:23pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
Subzero047:the second strikers we had, how have they performed when they had the chance? We all witnessed our games last year when Osimhen wasn't around. Any striker currently doing well in Europe should be considered including Awoniyi, Akpom or Ugbo. Onuachu is doing so well in Belgium which is a decent league by the way but hasn't done so in SE but Osimhen also was great in Belgium and translated such form so far in the eagles. Saying that Ugbo shouldn't because of the league he plays in makes me wonder if we have a Haaland, Neymar or Benzema we kept somewhere in a higher league. The Ejuke I expected to make a move from the Netherlands to a much more higher league chose to go to Russia which almost the same with the Dutch league and hasn't replicated his form in the Netherlands there. |

12large1:Which incumbent have been excellent in the SE apart from Osimhen? We all witnessed the 4 games we played last year, unless you are suggesting we list only Osimhen as our CF in upcoming national team squads. |
Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2025 And 2026 World Cup by Subzero047: 2:10pm On Jan 12, 2021 |
Karlovich: Cyriel Dessers that was the top scorer in the Dutch league has not even gotten any chance in the SE, same with Nwakaeme even Simmy Nwankwo, the SE has gone past the experimental stage any striker looking for a chance should be doing more than 10 goals in a Belgian league |
