What's the point of divorcing someone who doesn't exist. I think she should come clean and also hire a lawyer. Surprised there's no ban on that letter and if none, there's a chance.

But what exactly is a lawyer going to do.... a lawyer not a magician and can only find loopholes or points within the available structure . other than ask her to add divorce papers. .... I dont see the magic a lawyer can do .

Even if you own up to the lie, it doesnt help the situation.... a lawyer at best can argue that family life is been impacted by been separate if there is a child involved

If there is a way you can use an agent to retrieve your copies of your documents from the UK embassy, ur problem is half way solved

Like Canada, you can retrieve copies of your documents submitted at the embassy or order for gcms thru some agents like gcmsbuddy....

Please what are your rates

Unfortunately there is small uncertainty around rates now cause of Brexit. Our routes have changed. Cost/Rates is now higher. I don’t want to announce the new rates until I’m sure it can’t go lower but feel free to DM to see what’s currently applicable. Thank you.

Saw here that there is a way you can check your visa history....so maybe you apply and then get feedback on your previous application

That way you are very sure what was submitted before and take it from there .

The major problem here is the the real marriage predates the fake marriage. That will be so hard to correct . If it was the other way around then a divorce certificate would have helped .....the only way I can think is owing up to the lie and if you do that as bad as well...that why there is a section for Good character for ILR and if someone fails that part no ILR ..... I hope you able to sort it out

I mean agents that work directly with the embassy to retrieve informations/request for a note (ds is for Canada) but not sure if they can order for such note in UK

You need to stop blaming the agent and come clean in your next application else the Homeoffice will frustrate you with refusals as you keep applying and wasting money.

Divorcing either of the husbands is not the problem, the fake docs is. She should just wait, the 10 year ban would soon be lifted (that’s if they don’t class this new application as fraudulent then that’s extra 10 years).

I don’t think she knew what she was getting into. Most people don’t know how dubious agents are. I also learned that when I joined nairaland. Senior home owners, how did you lowball(made a bid).

I have read almost all articles online. The advice is 10 to 15%.

However, checking Zoopla for houses that have been sold, there's an average of just 5k off the listing.

Is there any tip about making a good and acceptable. tip from your personal experiences?

Can you lowball a listing that says "prices over..." Or guide price "30-50". Even though it has been on the market for almost 6 months.

Tray2, RalphLauren, justwise, Lexusgs430... plus everyone that has an advice.

Btw, credit score is taking shape and working on getting my records from TransUnion and Equifax.
Thanks to everyone that gave their input.

I'm so fed up with this visa guys at Ikeja. I made an application for my spouse and kids, biometrics was on 2nd Dec, we went for collection on Dec 17th. One of the Kid's passport read Dependant of Name instead of Compound-Name (e.g John instead of Jones-John) so we raised it at the point of collection because we feared delay at the POE. Till today we haven't been able to get the passport back, when tracked it says collected but we have been there 2ce and they keep telling us we will receive a mail when it's ready.

Please advice me what can we do, we sent a mail to escalate it and we paid 3£ as requested but they only said to wait till 15 working days after complain was made (that is, Dec 17). It's over 15 days now and no word from them.

It's getting so annoying because, this is delaying flight bookings. Please what can we do?

Firstly I’ll recommend you register on ‘checkmyfile’ it’s a platform that has all the three credit agencies (Equifax, Experian and transunion). They’ll be able to give you a comprehensive credit report from all the three and i think the first month is free. The score isnt as important as your report(missed payments, ccjs, UVA, etc) so look out for that.

Secondly, register with developers for new builds or estate agents for old builds. Most houses would have been on the estate agents’ websites for some time before finding its way to Zoopla, Rightmove and others. And with the current climate (due to stamp duty holiday) properties are gone before you can say ‘jack’.

Only offer what you feel a house is worth to you and never go overboard, there’s no crime in putting down any offer, the worst that can happen is the seller saying no or to decline your offer.

There are lots of property buying groups you can join on Facebook, they helped me a lot when i was getting my place.

If you have more specific questions, feel free to ask and I’ll try my best to answer the little i know

On the market for 6 months can mean the home owner is asking for an above market price. On the flip side it could be that the deals keep falling through and you would get an owner who would want to sell fast...

Go as low as you want, houses currently on the market are overpriced so feel free to take off as much as 20%...if they reject the offer you can top up a little...
Re: Living In The Uk/life As A UK Immigrant by EngrSaks(m): 1:33am On Jan 14, 2021
For people intending to relocate to the UK, try as much as possible not to use agents...the uk process is very straightforward, you dont need any special thing from any agent...

Just get the right documents, be truthful and try to explain any extra info that might help your case in the additional segment provided...

No hurry in life, if you dont have the complete requirements, work towards getting it and apply when you have everything...

Save yourself the money and unnecessary trouble with trying to outsmart the system

Before you start making any bids/offers at all..............

Do yourself this very big favour, register with www.ourproperty.co.uk.............

By taking/making this vital step, you would see how much properties sold for within set miles (going back about 10 years)........

You might even see the property, you are intending to place a bid/offer on (to know how much then wan chop for your head)........... grin cool tongue

@All, Please does anyone have a link to an official list of fair wear and tear in the case of settling a deposit dispute. I got one from Homelet and not any other website. My LL sent some pictures of some scruff marks on the wall and door.

Also, should we be agreeing to cleaning charges being deducted despite the house was thoroughly cleaned before we moved and even retouched painting in some areas.

The problem with retouching, is the inconsistencies..... The landlord might have to repaint the whole section.......

Some LL also get professionals to clean after each tenant, if the clean up exercise, was not up to their standards.......

Did you take pictures & videos, prior to vacating property?......

Have you disputed the LL claims, via the deposit scheme?.....?

We even tried to repaint most section and it wasn't too obvious. We took pictures but not video (mistake on my part). Because we had direct relationship with the LL, we went to drop the keys and he visited several days after.

Now some of the pictures he sent after 13days of dropping the keys differs from what we took.

He sent the pictures for us to defend ourselves grin grin, hasn't sent any quotes whatsoever.

The only major thing we caused was just one rug/window stain we forgot to remove in one of the bedrooms but the link on Homelet categorise this as fair wear and tear.

https://homelet.co.uk/landlord-insurance/landlord-lowdown-blog/article/wear-and-tear-what-is-deemed-acceptable. Just want to have more ammunition before firing our response.
