Your brain is not functioning well. If gov. Rwike of recent did not denied his Igboness in front of the whole world, this topic won't have come up.

Wike is not an Igbo man.

Wike is an Ikwerre man.

Whether Wike says he is Igbo or not won't bring food to your table or add one plot to your father's land.

The man is an Ikwerre man and proud of it without denying it.

His actions deserves commendation....

My own stance on this whole Ikwerre issue is that they can claim anything they want to be, na that one concern them... heck they can even change the Benin origin story tomorrow and claim they descended from planet Mars, na their shelenge be that. But what won't be tolerated anymore is their insidious proclivity for claiming to be Igbos when it suits them... due to political expediency or any kind of favor they will curry from riding on the Igbo tag... enough is enough! I feel bad for the considerable demography of Ikwerre people out there that genuinely identify, represent and defend their Igbo identities despite the hate they face from their profoundly Igbo phobic kinsmen... but I think the damage and disrespect this Ikwerre's have done to the Igbo nation who haven't wronged them in any way (short of simply asking them to stop answering our names and practicing our cultures and traditions if they insist they aren't one of us) is far too much for us to accept even the ones among them that identify with us... abeg let them all go to Benin where they come from and leave us in peace... just change all your Igbo names and stop speaking Igbo language so we know you're actually serious. As for Ohaneze, those ones lost their relevance a long time so appointing Obi Wali is on their own prerogative, not on the mandate of the Igbo nation.

How will is sound when Chukwuemeka is pronounced as Rchukwuemeka or Rokafor or Rngozi, Ruchenna, Rkalu, Rogechukwu?
Pronounce the names first abeg.

My brother, it doesn't matter whether the names will be pronouncible or not, if they have dignity left in them, they drop Igbo names and other trade marks we are known with. You can't claim not to be Igbo yet everything about you is Igbo, that's stupidity if you ask me.

If they add R prefix as a distinguishing factor and it makes nonsense of their names, then so be it. Have you tried to pronounce Bini names too? At least, they will now share something in common i.e. bearing crazy names like the Russians grin grin

The Obi Wali dude comes from same local government with the rascal Wike. Then you begin to wonder what sort of stupid confusion this people have put themselves into. When the rascal governor made a proclamation that ikwerres are not Igbos, did these ones claiming Igbos now counter him?

To me, they can choose to be whatever they want or even go to hell if they wish, after all they have nothing to add to the Igbo race. They actually need us far more than we will ever need them and that's a fact!

Obiozor emerged victorious after defeating two other contestants in the election held yesterday in Owerri.

Obiozor, a former Ambassador to the United States and Israel, polled a total of 304 votes to defeat Chief Valentine Oparaocha who scored a total of 15 votes and Chief Uju Savior Okoro who had three votes.

However, the position of Deputy President General was won unopposed by Obi Wali of Rivers State while Okey Emuchay from Abia State emerged the secretary-general after garnering 265 votes to defeat his rivals.

Who remembers here that the Ogoni elders burnt alive by Saro Wiwas mob were also mostly from the branch of Ogonis who supported Biafra during the war? Saro Wiwa reffered to them as "vultures" and few hours later, they were all dead! Those were some people's parents too. Many south south leaders took a lot of fire for being pro east.. Most of those empowered economically and politically after the war from those areas are the ones willing to dance to federal government tunes..
that's why I don't sympathize with Sato wiwa's execution... Although he didn't deserve such death, but people died by his hand too

These ones are the "lost souls" of the Anioma nation (add some parts of Iselle-Uku to that list as well), I can categorically tell you they are the ones that carry the "we are from Bini" matter on their heads like no man business. At this point whether I think they are Igbo or not is immaterial, the Igbo nation can definitely do without them and we don't need all that identity crisis stress anymore.

You guys should be calming down. Prominent Ikwerre sons called Wike to order, after that interview. Yes, an Ikwerre man, a leader in Houston Texas, did an open letter to Wike, and why he is alone in his journey of denial. Don't insult Ikwerre people for the action of few. After all, some Anioma don't accept the Igbo tag. But we still carry them along, I mean those that identity with us.

Ndeewo nwanne, true to God, if it were the Anioma/Asaba, especially those areas you mentioned are the ones misbehaving like the ikwerres, considering their huge human resources just like other Igbos on the East side, it would have been a little debate-able but for ikwerres that has nothing special to offer it makes no sense to me. They actually need the Igbo nation more than we will ever need them.

They can go fvck themselves for all I care.

He was among the founding fathers of Ohanaeze along with Chief Wobo and Chief Emmanuel Aguma. One of the Ogoni elders burnt alive was Chief Edward Kobani who actually helped Saro Wiwa became a man.

No I don't and have never wanted that. Listen here, I'm not one of those igbos who are scared of a Biafra without the south south, and neither can I be cowered by that oil rant of theirs. I believe that nndigbo can achieve anything we want to with or without oil. Enough of the father Christmas game. If you are Igbo, then show it. Its not an identity to be ashamed of because of just some favour from the government.I don't blame them. I blame the igbos who continually drag them to be igbos by force thereby bringing more and mockery to the Igbo race.

How can you keep accepting a people that have refused and rejected you before the world. This matter did not start today. It has been lingering for years even before the war, but yet some igbos will still be dragging them. Even jesus christ cannot behave like this.

What the ohaneze should be doing now is to remove people like the ikwerees from the group. Let everybody know where they stand and answer their fathers name. By doing this, everyone will know the people who are called nndigbo and address us as such. In fact, make I go sleep. This matter don vex me.

True. But when an man aspires to be deputy leader of that group, it is no longer cultural exchange he is looking for. He is trying to tell the world that he is with his people

It is very unfortunate the ethnic confusion that exists amongst Ikwerre people. Some of them say they are Igbo, others say they are Bini and others say they are Iwhuruoha. They dont know who they are. Wike is shouting that he is not an Igbo man but another Ikwerre man from his own Local government has become deputy president of the Apex organisation of the Igbos. Confusion everywhere

Someone should help Ikwerres resolve this identity crises that grips them because the next generation of Ikwerres might claim to be Japanese
