On my way going to Niger state to buy beans and some grains, I noticed some strange things on the road which is never happened before in the country;

1. After mokwa going to makera, kotangora side around 8pm in the night, all the villages along that makera road were blocked by youth of each village, all bus, vehicles, trailers were searching and looking for fulani people, if you're Fulani, you are gone.

2. Each village formed vigilante group which contains youth with local guns and AK47 guns in their hand

3. I saw war, violence in their face

4. After I reached market in this morning, the market was not as it was before, the price of grains was scarocket, beans I bought 25k last week, I bought it 32k5

5. Most of the bag in the market are not as it was before, before, the bags contain 64 or 65 mudu but now it is either 60 or 61 mudu, I noticed this last time I bought my last market

6 My obversation today with those southern that are living in that state is that, if all southern can cooperate and reject their prices and stop buying the grains, the price will come down. I heard that in bodija market, they rejected their beans I don't know how true is this information.

7. @sheriff, please come and put more light on this issue, because we are going to suffer in this country in this year because is too early for the beans to go up like this, for this month of January, we suppose to buy beans at the rate of 15k

At this time, you can't buy beans and make profit unless you buy it and store it like 2 week b4 selling it .let me explain to you to understand it clearly;

The price of beans as at last week is 32k5, with transport to your destination is 2k

Beans price #32,500 + 2000 = 34,500

One bag of beans is contained 60 mudu instead of 64 or 65 b4 increment in price,as at December it was 65 mudu but now is 60 mudu, even some bags is not up to 60 mudu.

From calculation, 34,500 ÷ 60 = #575 per mudu

In Ibadan here, 1 mudu = 1 Congo because it's 10 tin milk

In Lagos 2.5 Congo = 1 rubber paint

In Ibadan, the price of 1 Congo of beans now is #600

So, #600 × 60 (1bag) = #36,000

So, #36,000 - #34,500 ( cost price n tfare) = #1,500 for profit on bag.

Can't you see that is not profitable at this moment.

The beans I have at hand (selling) now was bought when the price was #25,000, so the beans I bought last week at rate of #32,500 will be selling in the next 3wks or more, so the price would have go up then.

I bought beans at rate of #25,000 with transport making #27,000

Then one congo is #600, #600 × 60 (1bag) = #36,000

So, #36,000 - #27,000 = #9,000 profit on bag.


N:B. In this week, beans will go up to 700 per Congo because the price of beans is now 32k. And also my calculation base on DRUM BEANS, not honey beans because honey beans is more expensive than drum beans but the difference is #100.

I hope you understand my analysis, thks
