I thought I was the only one wondering about this O! Why would anyone want to go on vacation to the US at this time? Most travel insurance specifically exclude pandemics includingcovid-19 so why are people taking this risk?

Lagos to NYC should be about 10 hours flight that is basically breathing this same air for 10 hours in a plane which might have multiple infected people on board.
My point is Nigerians should be patient at this moment even Buhari the president of Nigeria that loves travelling than any other person is sitting quietly in Aso rock.
People are really dying in America at this moment let's not pretend like we are not aware of it.
I was shocked to see someone on this thread asking questions about conference in the U.S at this time and I just shook my head at the level of desperation.

All the planes have HEPA Filters, so the air being circulated is fine to breathe.

My bro/sis people are dying everywhere not in the US alone. COVID19 is killing people daily all over the world. Those who want to travel should do so, I believe they’ve evaluated the risk before arriving at that decision. Let’s not demonize people’s choices because we have a different opinion.

The intent is not to demonize anyone but rather to draw attention to and educate. The risk is beyond personal/individual. Open travel between countries is one of the vehicles that has accelerated the spread of covid. Travelers are risking either taking the disease with them to another location or bringing it back to their home location. If travel is non essential, it is discouraged. Tourism at this point in time risks transmitting the virus between countries. To me, the only type of vacation that makes sense now is if you travel and isolate yourself when you get there like an AI holiday, but that is not what people are doing.

The ban doesn't affect k1 visa. A friend of mine applied for her fiancee in February 2020.

The ban affects K1 Visa because it leads to permanent immigration. Only K1 applications filed before the February 2020 ban are not affected.

Can I buy my ticket before doing the test? What if the test is yet to be processed on my travel date? Or do I wait till i get the result before buying tickets?

You can buy your ticket anytime. Just note that you MUST do your test minimum 72hours or 96hours (check the entry requirements) before your trip, also this time starts counting from when the test is done not when theresult comes out.
Also the earlier you buy the cheaper the fare.
You can contact me for tickets, if you dont a travel agent though.

Hello

You may not be allowed to board because your passport expires less than 6months from your travel date. My advise is that you renew your Nigerian PASSPORT. This doesn't affect your US visa but you would need BOTH passport when travelling since the visa is on the old passport.

please can l use my Nigeria passport with a valid visa B1/B2 (visa to expire in Dec 2021) but the passport will expire in August 2021 and l want to travel in April 2021 by then the passport will be valid for 5 months. please l need your advise, so that l dont have issue at POE.

Book a Test for Day 3 - Be mindful of Sunday's
Receive Result Day 4.
Remember connecting flights add an extra day to your travel date.
So you arrive at your destination Day 6. Result still valid

You can buy your ticket anytime, but make sure it's before booking for the test. I think the portal requires your flight details also.
