Do we still have fundamental human in Nigeria?

I got my current apartment 2017, I paid 75k nd I moved in, after two month the caretaker called and asked the whole tenant to pay additional 10k that there's an increment, I refused, nd he said if I won't pay that money I should move out with immediate effect, he came and started dragging me(it's student area nd house is very scarce, KWASU students can testify).
I went to police station to report but nothing happened cry I paid that money , fastfoward to last week, the landlord came nd chsxk the house nd promised to ammend some places.
After three days he called nd asked every body to move out this weekend, the worst part is no vacancy anywhere now I went from one place to another the cheapest room is 180k. Where do I get that from, where is fundamental human right cry, cry

Your question is very funny and am sorry to say, it breeds illiteracy on your part. What happened between you and your landlord is not at all an issue of fundamental human right but an issue of breach of contract. Breach of contract is a civil matter that does not and should not concern the police at all. The police know this and will just be cashing out on your ignorance. The only thing you need to do is to serve him a court summon and watch how he reacts with panic. I retract my earlier statement on illiteracy on your part ( Most Nigerians have been brought up to use the police as a tool of harassment even in unnecessary matters such as civil law.) It is not your fault.

Did we ever have human rights in Nigeria?
We can’t even talk about Beet coin on nairaland without getting banned.
I tried explaining to a user here; Flixvevo.
I got banned twice. In real life you could legally be arrested for exercising your freedom of speach, yes, LEGALLY.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Censorship_in_Nigeria

The history is long but basically we have extreme anti-defamation laws, to the point where saying anything negative about any individual or group is borderline illegal.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/08/25/world/africa/nigeria-blasphemy-atheist-islam.html

But on the topic; your landlord legally shouldn’t be able to do what he did, but since the police act as hired thugs and courts are pay-to-win, well… tongue
