The Police man deserves a heavy punishment because as an enforcer of the law, he should not be seen or heard to be aiding and abetting criminals; but life imprisonment is unfair. I think 20 years imprisonment would have been okay.
However, the kidnappers should have received more heavy sentences too, like 15 to 20 years imprisonment, to act as a deterrent to other criminally minded people.

That makes two of us. The law even stated that if one buys a stolen vehicle it means they are aware that the vehicle is stolen.

The sentence doesn't make sense. How come the robbers only got about 5 years and the buyer of a stolen item gets life imprisonment? Who are the ones that pose more threat to the public here?

The sentence for the kidnappers is mild, just five years. Why?

Learn to read. He got life (which is fitting for an officer of the law so others will sit up) because he knew it was stolen vehicle.

There can be no excuses here.

One would expect that he would have done his due diligence as regards that vehicle before proceeding to do business with the bandits.

Here is a man who was in the perfect position. He could easily have gotten every single detail about that car at his finger tips if only he had bothered to exercise the privileges that came with his position. Very disappointing.

The sentence was too harsh-vindictive-unprofession and one sided. why would Kidnappers bag 5 years each only ?? ACP can appeal the judgment for a lieniency. However, this will teach uniform men a lesson.
