You're very lucky you were not shot dead too. Three guys apprehended you for your phone and you initially tried to resist? If the wrong person was among them he could have shot at you because some of them feel embarrassed, threatened or very disgusted when their victims resist, and with influence of drugs they are trigger happy.

Exactly my resolve. That guy wouldn't have alighted at that location because of criminality that goes on there. I say that because people that are conversant with that area like him that lives around should know better. Even finicky restaurant have lost loads of clients because of that. In Canada, there are good and bad places. In fact, there are places (mostly downtown) that is not advisable for you to walk alone by at night.

What happened is highly unfortunate and saddening. But for purpose of discuss I'd like to point out that most deviants you see might not necessarily be as a result of bad parenting, but combination of so many factors.
The lessons we can take from what just happened is that there is need for shortcode Emergency numbers that anyone can call and get help as quickly as possible, not those 11 digits GSM numbers dolled out that you call and no response. If there was such emergency dial, those who witnessed those people on bike trying to rob the guy would have signalled the police and subsequently get emergency help for him when he was shot.
Another lesson is lighting and CCTV surveillance of streets.
Sadly, this is the sorry state Nigerians found themselves in and it's like it may not go anytime soon with all the kidnappings, banditry, terrorism.

See bad parenting is no one causes of most atrocities you see all over the places..

So, what makes this case so special that you all conclude that it was an assassination?

lf the deceased is a tech guru/tech saavy, then catching the thieves or whomever they are going to sell the phones to is a piece of cake. He must have jotted down his phone SIM slot IMEI numbers in a diary or someplace. so long as someone, someday and somewhere of the face of the earth decides to slot in a SIM card and use the stolen phone, the can be tracked. always jot down ur phone IMEI numbers.
