We should appreciate this cultural displays while they are still being held.

With the continuous domination by the Major religions, cultural festivals are doomed for extinction.

A look at the number of people participating in the festival would prove so.
Many of those kids being forced to participate would leave as soon as the elders wade away.

Yoruba and fetish believe, 5&6.

The most backward tribe in Nigeria are the Yoruba's.
In spite of their backwardness, you and your ancestors before you could not find a good means of survival until you migrate to their backward southwest.

I know only a mentally deranged person from the frustrated part of Nigeria would write this trash.

Nice culture. The Christian slavish fools are criticising them. But they don't know Christianity is the most stupid practice on earth. Christianity: I am God, I have a son who is also me God then I wanted to come to earth and I raped an underage girl living with her husband then I had my son (God) or Jesus brutally murdered in order for me to forgive you the sins I created in the first place (Isaiah 45:7) but jesus cried when the torture was too much but God ignored him(God) when he cried for help on the cross. So jesus was gruesomely murdered to pay for your sins yet you're still a sinner and you have to pay criminals in suit all through your life for them to save you from sins your God was murdered for. Now there is covid19 and your dirty fake non existing God or jesus are completely useless. Luckily it's not in hot Nigeria if not you dumb Christian's will die off. Christianity is a religion for insane folks

That second picture is the reason why I don't like putting on those fishnet caps, babalawo people don turn am to their uniform.

In Lagos, if you see a man in white lace, white fishnet cap and white shoes, abeg don't say "assalaam alykum" to him because he's most likely not an Alhaji. Rather he's most likely a Yoruba traditional cultist. If you check his wrist and see red beads, haa, dah one na confirm cultist.

And btw, who else finds white shoes annoying and disturbing?
Just as you deranged false prophet guided you, " don't greet Kuffars". If you want to know if your !slam is a cult or not ... try to leave. If you will be killed as prescribed by your dead false prophet, m0h, then why is your kettle calling pot black ?

Those traditionalists are not beheading people to force them to join them as islam did to your fore fathers... so shut up !

In as much as I am against what they are doing in the above pictures, I take exception to tagging a particular tribe fetish. Are you an American or European? Haven't we seen pictures of people from the east worshiping snakes and mermaids?

What about those from the Niger Delta?

Please stop the hypocrisy.

the yorubas are wiser, they were not completely deceived by the missionaries.
They retained their identity.
Unlike the nigerdelta where you have good luck Jonathan as a name of an African.
CULTURAL IMPERIALISM
Igbos also tried at least in retaining native names
Islam dealt with the north

And have you goined anything from your own relgion, or from worshipping idols...

The problem with you Nigerians, is that you all are backward because you don't want to become an industrial nation, instead you want to sell raw materails and share the money and accumulate imported stuff so that you can show off.

Your region is just as backward as the Yorubas you mock.

You should give up this tribalism. It is doing you no good...and no, I am no Yoruba or Igbo or Hausa person.

What do you know about the foreign religions you were bequeathed by your colonizers?

People who took you slaves also told your how to worship God and you swallowed it hook, line and sinker.

They even told you that your own way of worship that your fathers practiced for centuries and built great empires like Mali empire, Songhai Empire, great Benin Empire is evil.

Whilst Europeans were living like savages and killing themselves, Africans were already living in gated cities with well organized Kingdom.

Then came the weak, wicked white man. Destroyed everything Africa had including their history.

It is the only reason you will put up that naive comment.
Thank you jare, thats how they lied to us that MUNGO PARK discovered RIVER NIGER............
