as much as I love makinde as Oyo state governor, he goofed so much, this time on the matter that involves the core of our existence and governance.
I believe he's trying to dance to the gallery because of the second term ticket, but, he needs to learn Oyo state politics that why he was needed as a governor then has been accomplished and his compensation for doing the job is four years governorship, another agenda is getting set, his response to it will determine his fate, if he fumbles, Oyo state will look for a replacement for him this year against 2023 then, Abuja will not be on ground to save him. he should consider ladoja's case and akala's palaver!

The Governor has spoken towing the stand of The Federal Government, case closed.

Wow! Just wow! At a time when everybody was already mobilizing support for Akeredolu and Sunday Igboho, Seyi Makinde decided to betray the cause.

If an APC governor or Tinubu had taken this position, social media would be on fire right now.
I think his hatred for Aketi made him give that speech. This speech automatically puts Aketi in bad footing with the FG and his northern support base.

If the North removes him through the court, his ally Jegede becomes Gov.

Take it or leave it, he made that speech to discredit Aketi. If he is really concerned about Fulanis, he would made this broadcast even before Aketi signed his executive order.

I commend the governor for this position. It seems some people in the Southern part of the country are hell-bent on stoking ethnic tension under the pretext of insecurity. There is insecurity in every part of Nigeria, and Fulani herders are not the only ones responsible for all the crimes happening in this country. What I see happening is a scapegoating of a tribe to promote an agenda of ethnic cleansing. This cannot be allowed to stand.

[a]I will urge my fellow igbo countrymen in particular to exercise restraint in their eagerness to incite ethnic tensions because they seem to be at the forefront of this ugly trend.[/s] I noticed they are trying to incite Yorubas to follow the same path that the fugitive Nnamdi Kanu's illegal security riff-raffs did in Ebonyi when they chased out Fulanis. Let's all be guided so as not to escalate tensions.

Nigeria belongs to all of us, and we should not set a bad precedent of evictions of non-natives on ethnic grounds, because if this is allowed to continue, it will not favour any of us.

Stop being anti-Igbo. Make your statement and bounce.

It's you that deserve pity. Your comment just clarified the depth of your senselessness. Who is talking of a fight with Hausa/Fulani or any tribe. There more than a thousand and one Hausa people who scattered across or the markets in Oyo state and by extension, South West and nobody ever talked of evicting them.

The first governor that served the herdsmen quit notice is protecting the interest of his people

The other that insisted they should stay is also protecting the interest of the people.

why are we afraid to speak n stand by the truth in this country?some forcefully occupied your lands or forest n use it as a cover to perpetrate crime and the owners said leave and we are crying constitutional stuff n right to stay or live anywhere.

The constitution said right to own properties n leave peacefully, not right to forcefully stay on my land n attack me.in the North, this guys are called bandits or foreigners but here they are called herdsmen just to shield them from the law whenever they commit evil here.

I stand with the governor of Ondo state n enjoin all to say enough is enough!

[quote author=AbijaJ post=98269895]Let's see if Afenifere and those hailing Akeredolu's actions eariler will chastise Makinde for his contrary position. cheesy Lailai they won't, because he's a PDP governor so they will find a way duplicitous way to spin things in his favour. Imagine if it was an APC governor saying this. They go call am Fulani slave.
May God bless you

the forest, Rivers and farm had been rendered to a barrel waste land by this Fulani herder.
no more forest, no more wildlife, no more river resources and no one care!

Wrong way to handle sensitive issues like this. In inasmuch I know where the governor is coming from, the best approach is to call Sunday igboho and others to round table for negotiation and allow them to rescind the order by themselves. The governor will soon need them when fulani unleashed full scale mayhem in oyo state.
no mind that sule,i believe he is just doing thatfor video, you are 100℅ correct

You talked as if the North is still united the way it was in the 1960s. And let me remind you, the 1966 counter-coup and subsequent civil war were staged and fought majorly by Middle Belt Christian military men. Are you sure the same northern Christians (Middle Belt) will be willing to join forces with you to fight after all the atrocities Fulani jihadists had committed against them in recent past?
