Open Marriage: To Be or not to be? by Mecka(op): 2:06pm On Jan 23, 2021
In her book, 'A Happy Life in an open relationship', canada based therapist susan wenzel who's in an open marriage herself, defines it as such: "An open relationship is an arrangement wherein a couple decides to include experience with other people often for sexual pleasure. Open relationships do not encourage emotional attachment with external partners. Some people in open relationships prefer onetime sexual experiences or several dates, but ensure they do not become romantically involved with these additional sexual partners. A couple in an open relationship always prioritizes their primary relationship". Share your thoughts.

How can one ensure they do not become romantically attached to the third person?

That's just a subtle way of licensing marital immorality.

Provided both couple agree to such, their cup of tea
Its still better than those who sneak behind their partner's back

Open relationships are the ultimate in feminine hypergamy wet dreams. A pool of alphas to sow the seeds and unlimited consenting betas to feed their progeny.

What more can a girl want?

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

If the decision is mutual and the rendezvous done together, I see no problem.

Else, one person will be doing it to the detriment of someone else.

Open marriage defeats the purpose of marriage which is exclusivity and prevention of adultery.

There has never been any exclusivity in marriages. Let's stop wasting our time.

Married couples go about behaving like single people. Though it was the husbands that were privileged to do this before, now the wives are enrolling.

Inasmuch as it's an agreement between them, they can do as they wish. For many couples, it's a no-no, however.

There's no way romantic feelings from outside will not eventually creep up on either partner, thereby defeating the purpose for the arrangement nin the first place.
