Our local farmers can't meet up with mouth of Nigerians when it comes to food productions, we consumes a lot of rice, and they can't help the matter either as greed have taken over them, so, it's better to import rice to rival with them and to reduce cost of purchase of this product. |

Nothing is new Nigeria is a failed state. What do you expect when 40 rice farmers were massacred, and what an irresponsible good for nothing nigerian government could say is that “ they were not given a pass by the military to go to the farm” A country built on lies and deceit can’t progress, Nigeria will always move in retrogression |

Most Nigerian packaged rice is totally useless. Last time I ate at Mama Nkechi's shop, my mouth was the processor, struggling to separate the stones from rice. She used to be everyone's favorite (for jollof and white rice), now 97.8% have moved to Iyawo Gbenga's shop (since 1818 she's been cooking foreign rice). ![]() |

Who would buy local rice when the price is even more than that of foreign rice, despite all the illegal fees and bribes smugglers pay to bring it in. Let local rice be sold at ₦10,000 and you see if Nigerians won't rush it. |

This is what happens when killer bandits, fulani and BH terrorists have continually posed threat to farmers hence the food insecurity despite claim of self sufficiency in rice production by the lying government. A foolish government put blockade on the nation's most viable economic border while allowing the northern borders as free gangways for these terrorists to operate freely. |

Our borders are so porous, with many leakages to the extent that one may begin to wonder if we truly have borders at the first place.. The same way these rice are smuggled in is the same way ammunitions are brought in without stress for boko haram... Bet me,our customs are the major accomplices to these terrorists and they dare not refute it ![]() But las las, this is also like a blessing in disguise because even our own local rice is nothing to write home about ![]() |
