Super Eagles midfielder, John Ogu’s mum has died, Igbere TV reports.

The bereaved footballer took to Twitter to write:

“Worse day of my life.”

Though he didn't state what happened, his mother's death was confirmed by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on their verified Twitter handle on Monday January 25.

The NFF wrote:

"Our thoughts and prayers are with @NGSuperEagles midfielder @ogujohnugo following the passing of his Mom. May her gentle soul rest In peace."

Death of a mother is never easy to bear no matter the age....

I remember losing my father at the age of 12, at that tender age while my mum cried, I was there consoling her forming hard man "mummy u know I love daddy more than u do, but there's nothing we can do to bring him back, please take it easy, stop crying"..... At 28, my mum died, hmmm even though I was pretending to be strong, I cried for weeks abi months sef..

I'm not saying we men are not important or loved by our children, I don't just know what makes that mother's connection so strong..

For those that still have parents, take care of them well and may they live long enough for their deaths to be tagged "celebration of life"
