Former presidential spokesperson, Reno Omokri has reacted to report of Bauchi carpenter who wants 40 children, Igbere TV reports.

A report yesterday said that the 36-year-old carpenter in an interview with Leadership Newspaper, revealed that he is proud of becoming father of 13 children after his four wives gave birth within 3 weeks. With the new births, he now has a total of 13 children (10 boys and 3 girls).

Reacting to this, Reno Omokri stated that it is a symptom of why Africa is poor. According to him, Africans think of sex when it rains and not agriculture.

He tweeted;

“The Bauchi carpenter who wants to have 40 kids is a symptom of why Africa is poor. In 1960, Nigeria’s population was 45 million.

"UK’s was 52 million. In 2021, Nigeria’s population is 200 million. UK’s is 67 million. Once it rains, Africans think of women, instead of agriculture!.”

One would have expected Nigerian leaders to be thinking in the line of curbing population explosion, especially in the face of dwindling oil revenues and a major phase off from oil in say 50years. But everyone wants to be politically correct..
