Public Health Bro. But I doubt they will give him straight masters, he may need to to PGD since he doesn't have health background and his Degree is not directly health.

Without necessary job experience, either of the two won't do him any good

He have someone from inside that can work out, just that the person is telling him that if he is not a medical doctor, that he might be having employment challenge when he finishes, possibly because no one will leave a medical doctor with MPH and employ him.

How true could that be?

Very true, if I need an MPH candidate and I have the two, I will definitely choose rhe one with more relevant first degree as a differentiating factor - this can swing to either the two candidates depending on the job scope I want to fill. But honestly, most job scopes for MPH are public health related so the Doctor will have an upper hand here. E.g. UNESCO, WHO, UNICEF and the likes will prefer the doctor. However a job in NAFDAC, NDLEA, FAO et al will chose the Biochemistry background ahead of the medical doctor
