But your headache is IPOB and ESN that have not done 1% of what any of these groups have done?

Did people like you come out to show your disappointment when the Nigerian Army was shooting and killing unarmed IPOB members, just like they did to ENDSARS protesters in Lekki toll gate? Are their lives less important than that of the Army? All the armed groups killing people everywhere in Nigeria, it is ESN that touched nobody that your Army saw?

The main point made by the Op is that the SW has formed a legitimate security network backed by law, but the SE seems to be celebrating an illegitimate armed group which can easily be tagged an ethnic militia.

There's a clear difference between what the SW has formed in preparation for a Fulani invasion, and what has been formed in the SE. Obviously, the same level of reasoning that formed ESN without considering going through state assemblies is the same level of reasoning that populates this thread. So the Op shouldnt be surprised at the responses in the thread so far.

I have been observing the going on in the country especially what just happened in Orlu imo state.

Let it be known that we are not getting it right with our tacit Support for IPOB foolishness. the country has been gripped with insecurity and every region is trying to secure it's territory. while the south west has done a noble job to secure their region with all legal apparatus, IPOB went to create a security outfit without any legal backing. We all saw how the Ametekun the south west created initially angered the federal government who later gave in after the senate and state houses of the region agreed on a law for its creation. How do you think that such move by IPOB whom the federal government has proscribed will appear to the Government? IPOB was already seen by the government to be a secessionist group and creating such outfit with fire arms will only anger the Government more.

Now recent happening in Orlu has raised tension in the area and shamefully I kept on reading IPOB members here gloating that they killed military men in the area. my goodness. I also heard them saying they are ready for war. this leaves me to ask, why all these tactless approaches? If the military use their might on ESN can they whistand it? The ESN are endangering the lives of Ndigbo and sadly most people here are supporting them. when the ESN killed military men when they know that Nigeria military can be brutal and evil with their approach it means that they are endangering the lives of south easterners. It means that they are giving the Nigeria Government the leeway to tell the international community that IPOB are Terrorists which sadly they are now.

The igbo race must speak against the looming evil NNAMDI KANU and his group is bringing to igbo Land. many people who don't know or partake in what he and his group are doing will be the ones to suffer the most. Let us look at what is happening in North East.
If IPOB turn into a terror group which region will be destroyed? SOUTH EAST. if IPOB start carrying out guerilla warfare which region will be destroyed? SOUTH EAST. Sadly they have started the guerilla war and painfully which area is barricaded by military? Orlu in SOUTH EAST.

I know this will attract insults from IPOB members here. I know I will be called effulefu or FULANI or afonja. but note, I have said my mind.

The legitimate security outfit backed by law is there yet, your governor and Sunday Igboho were giving quit notice. Why are they giving herdsmen quit notice if your legally backed Amotekun is living to their expectations? You have security but you cannot sleep with eye closed. We celebrate an illegitimate armed group because they are doing a legitimate thing that their people want.

The difference between Amotekun and ESN. Amotekun was formed to checkmate the activities of Fulani herdsmen who have deeply rooted and mixed with the people of south west. They are there to treat the wound and not to heal it. But ESN is here to heal the wound forever. There are here to tell the Fulani herdsmen that they have no place in Igboland, they are here to tell the Fulani that Biafran land is not Nigerian land they claim to own, they are here to tell the Fulani that there can never be Igbo Fulani or Niger Delta Fulani as said by former Bauchi state governor that " a Fulani who lives in the Niger Delta and speaks Niger Delta language is Niger Delta Fulani ", they are here to tell the Fulani that Igboland can not be under Fulani occupation unlike Yoruba land. ESN are not answerable to any useless law or any useless Igbo leader or leaders, they are answerable to the people. They have the legal backing of the people.

The Nigerian military is behaving beyond their normal capacity as far as civility and decorum because anyone time they misbehave people call ESN and it turns to hell for them. As someone said above the military flees after 6-7pm and puts on civilian clothes to avoid trouble.


There's a lot of reason to not regard people yammering online about Orlu this and Orlu that because they learned about Orlu this week lol.

Whether Amotekun is living up to expectation or not isnt the issue, the keypoint to note is that they're backed by law, and because it is backed by law, the Fulani controlled FG cant easily tag them a 'militia' and send the military after them as was the case in Orlu where there was unnecessary bloodshed recently. Do you realise that even with the massive opposition of the north against Amotekun, the FG hasnt been able to send any soldier or police against them simply because they were smart enough to back it up by law?

The message I (and I believe the Op) tried to pass is this; do we not have state assemblies and governors in the SE?.... If we say ESN is 'efficient' and can heal the wound, what is wrong in making it legal, instead of leaving it with the current'militia' tag? Do you know the level of needless bloodshed that 'militia' tag will attract to the SE in the coming years?

OP, your concern is welcome.

But one thing: it’s not appropriate for a region of a country to set up sub-military outfit to protect its people and region against invaders from other regions in the same country of quasi unitary governance system like Nigeria. Such a country with regional sub-military outfits is as good as a divided country. But cheap cash from crude oil and gas deposits in the Niger Delta is what keeps Nigeria’s politicians from all regions united to continue to keep one Nigeria.
IPOB people know these, but their ESN should not be so publicized as an affront enemy of Nigeria’s Armed Forces.
