Op you made same mistake as others. You've began from the standpoint of view that through intellectual reasoning it will become clear that any form of war will be disastrous. Your mistake, like that of others warning of the consequences of war, is in not understanding that the calamity you fear is precisely what those pushing for this conflict want. Trying to indirectly warn those angling for war about the cost of war through discussions with other like minded individuals like you, is like trying to talk some boy you pegged for an arsonist out of setting fire to a block of flats not knowing that the boy is in the employ of property insurance scammers. |

| Re: Igbo Intellectuals In Nairaland, This Is For You. Let Us Think by obailala(m): 2:16am On Jan 28, 2021 |
The main point made by the Op is that the SW has formed a legitimate security network backed by law, but the SE seems to be celebrating an illegitimate armed group which can easily be tagged an ethnic militia. There's a clear difference between what the SW has formed in preparation for a Fulani invasion, and what has been formed in the SE. Obviously, the same level of reasoning that formed ESN without considering going through state assemblies is the same level of reasoning that populates this thread. So the Op shouldnt be surprised at the responses in the thread so far. |

obailala:The legitimate security outfit backed by law is there yet, your governor and Sunday Igboho were giving quit notice. Why are they giving herdsmen quit notice if your legally backed Amotekun is living to their expectations? You have security but you cannot sleep with eye closed. We celebrate an illegitimate armed group because they are doing a legitimate thing that their people want. The difference between Amotekun and ESN. Amotekun was formed to checkmate the activities of Fulani herdsmen who have deeply rooted and mixed with the people of south west. They are there to treat the wound and not to heal it. But ESN is here to heal the wound forever. There are here to tell the Fulani herdsmen that they have no place in Igboland, they are here to tell the Fulani that Biafran land is not Nigerian land they claim to own, they are here to tell the Fulani that there can never be Igbo Fulani or Niger Delta Fulani as said by former Bauchi state governor that " a Fulani who lives in the Niger Delta and speaks Niger Delta language is Niger Delta Fulani ", they are here to tell the Fulani that Igboland can not be under Fulani occupation unlike Yoruba land. ESN are not answerable to any useless law or any useless Igbo leader or leaders, they are answerable to the people. They have the legal backing of the people. ESN will heal the wound of Fulani forever in our land. God bless ESN, God bless Ipob, God bless MNK, God bless Biafra. |

Elpipitaaa:We hope this make the Frontpage. So that many people can learn from a wise man like you. This is exactly our point against NK and his followers. We hope we true igbos get it right soon. |

post=98510428:Getting it right is What ESN are doing. Do not think about today think about tomorrow. If we true Igbos fail to get it tight today our future will be gloomy. If in future we are mixed with Fulani of different faith plus the kind of hatred other tribes have for us, don't you think we are doomed. My friend think deeply for our future generations. |

awgumayor:Whether Amotekun is living up to expectation or not isnt the issue, the keypoint to note is that they're backed by law, and because it is backed by law, the Fulani controlled FG cant easily tag them a 'militia' and send the military after them as was the case in Orlu where there was unnecessary bloodshed recently. Do you realise that even with the massive opposition of the north against Amotekun, the FG hasnt been able to send any soldier or police against them simply because they were smart enough to back it up by law? The message I (and I believe the Op) tried to pass is this; do we not have state assemblies and governors in the SE?.... If we say ESN is 'efficient' and can heal the wound, what is wrong in making it legal, instead of leaving it with the current'militia' tag? Do you know the level of needless bloodshed that 'militia' tag will attract to the SE in the coming years? |

obailala:And in a situation where by the south East governors and Senators are foot dragging while things get worst ,what do you expect from Ndiigbo. Go back and check history. When Britain decided it was colonisation time, it took them 13 good years to bring Igbo land to colonial rule. There were no kings (governors and senators) to negotiate with. Every clan was responsible for their future and the brits have to fight and conquer clan by clan. You know why? Because down here we are FREEMEN. There will be no kings for Fulanis herdsmen to negotiate any rubbish with. If they want to take over Igboland then they should be ready to conquer every single clan. Kanu has shown the way and Esn rank is swelling. Even the south East governors and Senators understand their people. They can deceive you over there but down here they are wary of the Igbo masses. Once a diety start misbehaving ,it will be shown the wood from which it was carved. |

Elpipitaaa:My brother you have said the truth. Nnamdi Kanu is abroad in safety, bringing death and destruction upon Igbos. His Biafra cohorts who encourage IPOB agberos are also all abroad. - Uche Mefor (his ex deputy and former collaborator) - Simon Ekpa (his promotor living in Finland) - Aloy Ejimakor (his lawyer and promotor living in USA) - Amaka Ekwo (his *** and promoter living in Italy or roaming Europe) |

OruExpress:Queer. If you have a choice, Orlu should be bulldozed flat. Your posts over the years on matters of Orlu are there for any one to see. Take any battle you insinuate between ESN and Nigeria army to your hometown; not anywhere in or near Orlu. |

OP, your concern is welcome. But one thing: it’s not appropriate for a region of a country to set up sub-military outfit to protect its people and region against invaders from other regions in the same country of quasi unitary governance system like Nigeria. Such a country is as good as a divided country. But cheap cash from crude oil and gas deposits in the Niger Delta is what keeps Nigeria’s politicians from all regions united to continue to keep one Nigeria. IPOB people know these, but their ESN should not be so publicized as an affront enemy of Nigeria’s Armed Forces. |
