But, Why T-Shirt?

You ask.

A very common commodity.

And that'd be a very good question.

..........

Did you know that T-Shirt are the most popular apparels second only to underwear?

That is, T-Shirts are the most sold piece of clothing outside the underwear.

The global market for the custom T-shirt printing industry is expected to cross 10 billion USD by 2025.

This means, that there's a lot of money changing hands in this business.

Again, i didn't even know all that prior.

Starting is not so complicated or expensive, giving the popularity already, but this comes with it's own challenge, which you should sort, before going all in.

With the popularity, this means that to scale, you shouldn't be doing common things, you have to stand out.

Good thing is, standing out isn't so complex either.

Good morning guys..
Re: #1M In 60 Days, Selling T-shirts... Step-by-step Guide. by Goodnuel: 7:59am On Jan 31, 2021
There are very important things to look out for, to run a successful business.

1. Quality: There are a lot of low quality cloths out there, so, if you must be in profit, you should offer a good quality shirt.

2. Measurements: This is a personal challenge i faced, which in a way, lead to this discovery. I hate skimpy shirts. Short tees.

This is a very common sight out there, people selling short short cloths.

These cloths aren't comfortable for the people who wear them, but, they buy a few anyways, because they don't get better options.

So, you must take into note, the length of a good shirt, don't let it be too short.

The length is very very important, and you'd be amazed how just that can triple your sales.

How many times have you added #1000 to the original price of a product just to get comfort?.

Take note.

These are some very important things you must know, to keep in you lime and generate lucrative results.

.....

Pick a Niche.
As is the case with any kind of business, you must have a niche, especially if you do not have a lot of money, or a shop.

So, you must decide what kind of T-Shirts you want to make, who they will service, etc.

Having a niche will help you focus your energy and perfect one thing, this one thing, you can build a brand around.

For instance, do you want to make motivational T-Shirts?

Picture design T-Shirts.

Just letters T-Shirt?

Sports T-Shirt?

Trends T-shirts?

Etc.

Trying to cover every angle from the scratch will leave you confused, and wasting money.

Having a niche is more lucrative and easier to start.

One of the easiest ways of finding a niche is to look at yourself, what you like. Then, look at the possible numbers of people who'd like and pay for the same thing.

What i did, was to make the kind of things i like, then present them to people who are interested in the same things.

Very simple and not so popular designs.

People like custom made things, to feel special.

Make them feel special.

Business Plan.

Again, like any serious business, you need to have a plan.

You need to know how many Shirts you have to sell in a month or two, to hit your 1m target?

How do you sell them?

How much should you sell them?

Your profit margin.

Etc.

For the sake of clarity, you should have a well thought out business plan, to keep you in line, and in the profit.

I was able to do this well, because i had some business experience prior.

At the latter stage of this thread, i will drop the exact way i was able to do 1m naira in 60 days.

It can actually be shorter than 60 days, but i will be using 60 days as a proper case study.

So, you must have a clear plan that you will follow..

Things are much easier this way.
Re: #1M In 60 Days, Selling T-shirts... Step-by-step Guide. by Goodnuel: 11:53pm On Jan 31, 2021
Design.

Design should actually be in the business plan, but i have decided to bring it out here, because it's very important and can determine your profit level.

There are a variety of design types you can do on a shirt.

These different types of designs are suitable for various purposes and material types.

They also cost various amounts.

This goes a long way in determining the cost of your productions, and hence your selling price.

For instance, screen print can be cheaper and more suitable for a particular niche and purpose, as against sublimation, or other types of design.

The kind of niche you have chosen will also determine the kind of designs that'd be suitable for your shirts.

My niche was a simple one, so it didn't require heavy or costly designs.

So, for starters, you will have to stick to a simple design.

These designs can easily be done using some free phone applications like Canva and the rest.

All you need do, is add a little bit of creativity.

Make it different.

Material

The most popular material for T-Shirt is cotton. But, it's not the only kind of material you use for a quality T-Shirt.

First, materials are very important. It will determine the level of profits you will make.

Your niche will also determine the kind of material you should use.

This means, you can't use cotton for everything.

Getting the right material is very important, as it also goes to affect how your designs will come out, and also, how long they last.

You will have to deliver a very good material type.

For instance, if you are making sporting shirts, you will not be smart to use Cotton.

This applies for a lot of niches too.

You must know this.

Marketing.

This is practically the most important part of the entire process.

How you market your product to the right audience.

How you make them want to buy what you offering them fast.

Just like it was the responsibility of your parents to take care of you as their child, so it is your responsibility to market your products.

Good thing is, marketing isn't as hard as you want to believe.

Even made more easier with the use of online tools.

You can confidently and easily make incredible sales online without having a shop, or even showing your face.

You may not know how to go about this as a beginner, but i will touch that part too.

Giving that the market for T-Shirt is a huge one, and the popularity they have already, marketing them is even much more easy.

You can also sell to your friends, this of course, if you have the type of friends who'd fit in to your ideal audience or customers.

I personally didn't start by marketing to my friends though, because, i had other targets.

If you have all the above sorted, then, you have to look at the sourcing.

The cost of sourcing.

This should actually be in the first plan, but i am bringing it out to make it more clearer.

First, you can do this in two ways.

1. Already Made Approach.

This means that you just source for already sewn Tees. This can be faster to do on paper, but it's usually expensive, and you have a limited control.

For instance, you can easily go to market, buy an already made shirt, then print your design on it and sell them. Fast and easy.

But the limitation ranges from buying quality materials very costly, which greatly reduces your profits.

To, limiting your choices, like, sizes, colours, type of fabric, etc.

Usually, the length for these types, are not very comfortable. Also, quality proper ones are more expensive.

These things can affect the progress of your sales.

I like to stay in control, so, i use the second option.

2. Self Production

This means that you are in control of everything. From the colours, to the fabric type, to sizing, etc.

This is much more cheaper, and shoots your profit margin to over 200%.

You will have to sew them yourself... Of course, not by yourself, but for your taste.

You can do more with this option.. Like, offering bigger sizes, which actually sell faster.

You choose colours, sew styles, etc.

Of course, you don't have to touch or sew anything, we have production firms who will take your order, sew and brand for you for very affordable prices.

This is the very method i use.

It shoots your profits high.

After deciding if to use option 1 or 2 above, we look at the niche or sub niche that you should target.

Again, i started and like niching a lot, it keeps you in control.

You will also be wondering why not just do plain Tees?

Well, you could and be in profit, but the margins will be low.

Why?

You guessed right.

Everyone is doing that.

So, you will have much more competition, which will affect your profits.

So, you niche down, and you will be like the only person who offers that, then, you are in control. Call it monopoly if you like. tongue

So, what Niches or sub-niches should you do?

First, there are a lot of fast selling Niches, depending on the amount of money you want to start with, you can choose one or 2.

I did with just one. Write ups.

Trends T-Shirt.

Without doubt, this is a high selling niche...

The thing with this kind, is that, you have to stay at the forefront to be in profit and sellout fast.

You have to be one of the first to push it out, or, join when the trend is still very fresh.

If you can stay in front, then, you will be making a lot of money, as a lot of persons like to follow trends.

If you don't catch the trends on time, you will be left with your products, and in huge loss.

Nobody likes to be left behind.

This is my favourite part... As i like to enjoy words.

You just make write ups, using a few lines that connects.

With this too, you can narrow it to a specific field or two you prefer.

Family T-Shirt

This is a very hot niche, as we have a lot of emotions flying about here..

You should also know that we humans are very emotional people, that's why we can go on to print our names on tops, just to feel good about it.

This niche is very large too, and can be heavily narrowed with an incredible profits return.

It doesn't have to be a great design too, the emotion is already there.

I met a guy who did 7 figures, selling just one line of this kind of tees, it read “I love my wife".

You know the funny thing, it was the wives that majorly wore them, not even the husbands. cheesy cheesy

Emotions.

I like this one a lot too.

You make designs with abstract unpopular images or write ups.

This stands out a lot, as its not always easy to replicate it by others.

Self Praise

[/i]This can be fixed in one of the groups above too, but i brought it out here because it is peculiar.

You know, legends are born in blah, blah, blah!

They sell like fire, because we all love to feel good about ourselves.

So, if you call me a king now, i will buy your tee. cheesy wink

So, you make Tees that meet this kind of want, you make money.

You don't have to do the generic ones too, there are tons of more creative ways to do this.[/i]

There are loads of options to work with, but regardless of the one you have chosen, i assure that they are very easy to achieve.

I keep emphasising on creating unique designs because, that tiny difference is enough to give you over 100% profits.

Also, all those designs can be done easily, using free mobile apps and websites.

So, if you are looking to start a new business with a very high return, this is it.
