https://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/crs-tool.asp

Simulating their CRS is the first step. The Vet doctor can claim points for Masters/professional degree because of his profession but the Registered nurse can only claim points for Bachelors(Masters points is higher than Bachelors points). The Vet will also lose about 14 or 15 points on age. They also have to max out their IELTS to be able to have a high CRS. If their CRS is in the 470s, they may have a chance with EE, if not they may have to consider other options like PNP. There’s a thread for express entry, I think you will get better answers there pertaining to immigration. Job prospect for RN is great . I know people don’t joke with their pets here, so I’m assuming job prospect should be good for Vet doctors too. I have no idea of the immigration programs for Australia (there’s also a thread for this topic on NL) but I know for sure that it’s a very good country too.
Thanks so much brother.

Since the husband can claim Masters/professional degree, is it advisable that he should be the primary applicant? Someone says the wife should be the primary applicant but her level of degree and year of work experience (2yrs) is not up to husband. Is age advantage of the wife enough to make her the primary applicant?

How can the husband claim Masters degree, when we doing the evaluations of the certificate?

Thanks so much.. I don’t want the question to get to much... But answer to the above questions will as well give me a broad view.

vet Doctor and a Nurse, they're both perfect for the Canadian journey. Their profession is widely sorted for in Canada, just wait for the seniors to illuminate more on this. But from my little experience, they're good to go. Since the wife is younger, she should be the primary applicant. Just check the EE thread for more information.

I learnt that the hubby can claim Masters/professional with DVM degree, also the year of working experience is about 4years which is also more than the wife experience. Do you think the age advantage of the wife can give more point or enough to make her the primary applicant ?

Thanks

Oga use the crs calculator and calculate for them using one or the other as primary applicant. It will answer your question on who is the better choice

Please, to those who did their Covid test in Lagos this year, where did you do it? Biobank's (the only testing centre listed on https://nitp.ncdc.gov.ng/onboarding/lab-directory) phone number isn't going through. I find it hard to believe that it's only one testing site acceptable for Lagos.

Boss in today's naija how would u advice somebody working with BOI with a bsc cert in a science course who is about to make a choice between ICAN and MBA. Is it worth it? Which is better?
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by seunpinky(m): 10:38pm On Feb 01, 2021
Well I will advice such person to go for ICAN. The value placed on ICAN certificate is much more than a Nigerian MBA asides LBS MBA. If funding is not an issue, will advice the fellow to write ACCA, so that he/she can get the B.Sc in applied Accounting alongside the ACCA professional certificate.

okay thanks alot Sir, for your swift and candid reply.

Although there is a little apprehension, will a person who eventually got chartered as an accountant with science degree still be regarded in future? Because u know in naija anything can happen.

It was this same naija that we witnessed science graduates barred from practicing their profession because they were not licensed since 2009, they continued to prohibit them from even other sectors that has nothing to do with the license!

This is the major fear or concern.

Your course of study doesn't affect you being able to practice as a chartered accountant.

To practice, you need the following:
1. Pass the ICAN professional exams
2. Get the required accounting experience

That's all.

No limitation whatsoever... Graduates from any discipline can practice without any hindrance.

Let them simulate their CRS using the two of them as primary applicant, the person with the highest CRS should be the primary applicant.

The Vet will evaluate his degree with the medical body in Canada( he has to research what the body is )to be able to claim points for Masters. He can’t use WES and the likes.

He can use WES for immigration purposes (speaking from personal experience), but for practicing in Canada, i doubt WES will pass.

He can use WES for immigration purposes but WES won’t evaluate his degree as a professional degree, hence he won’t be able to claim points for professional degree/Masters. I’m assuming you didn’t read our previous chats, you would have understood what I’m trying to explain.
