Newbies to US Stock Investment

The Market:

S&P Futures up about 0.5%, SPY bounced back within channel and market looking bullish short term. Good chance for a trend back up to $380-390 on SPY. All the meme stocks and short squeeze plays getting a lot less attention/volume and cooling off, leading to more money flowing into spacs and EV plays along with big tech as the biggest movers today.

- SPACs are my overall favorite sector to play right now for the risk/reward as longer term swings and personal favorites right now are $PSTH, $BTWN, $STIC. Same thesis on all the others that I’ve been talking about
Plays for Today:
*Reminder: my buy/sell alerts is just what I’m doing and should just be used for ideas. Not every entry/exit will be perfect timing.
$NIO: held support level at $54, looking for reversal and bounce up to the $61-65 range. Sold off for no reason after great delivery numbers, expecting this dip to get bought up
$TTCF: back above key level at $23, has upside towards $26.50 on a full reversal. Heavily shorted and has earnings coming up as catalyst
$ABNB: solid dip buy here, holding the uptrend from the trendline. If trendline holds should be due for a run back up to $200
$NNDM: solid dip buy here if it can hold the 50 day MA where it’s sitting at now. If it drops below, would signal more downside and i’d stay away until it finds a confirmed bottom
$BNGO: nearing end of wedge so likely to make a big move in either direction. On a breakout likely goes back up to highs, if it breaks below we could see $8-9 as a dip buy
$NNOX: held key support level on the sell-off after fda approval got delayed. When/if the approval does go through (likely in a couple months from now), I’d expect we could see $120+. Huge disruptive technology in the x ray space, adding on dips
$CLSK: sitting close to multiple bottom and strong support level at $24.50, looking for a bounce off this level back up to $30, with breakout potential above 30
$RMO: huge volume spike and back over key level at $18, still targeting $24 on mid/long swing with breakout and gap up potential to $30 over 24
$DOCU: sitting at wedge support, setup that could lead to breakout in a couple weeks. Earnings in the beginning of march, one to keep watch on
$BYND: after the big move has had a healthy pullback and is now flagging. A break of short term downtrend could send it back to $200 fast
$SRPT: one of the best long term entries in the market, strong support level at $85 and should have a slow trend back up to $120-130 in the next couple months. Leap options a solid play as well here
$BA: on watch for when it breaks out of falling channel. Great long term entry under $200 as well
$QS: EV battery sector starting to get hit with THCB, RMO, etc. Good chance for QS to follow. Should get a bounce off support here to the $46 range, and if it breaks out of falling channel targeting $60 on the breakout
$DKNG: news out after hours that ARK loaded up on shares today, broke above key level at $57 and chance for continued breakout, along with the sector benefiting as a whole: RSI, GNOG, PENN - sector should be in for a strong week
$CRM: starting to test the breakout level over $230, on the break we should see $240-250
$GOEV: showing reversal strength, key level to get back above is $17 for the next leg up. Chance for partnership news as a huge catalyst at anytime
$RSI: broke above key levels $19 and $20, looking for it to now hold $20 as a support level. First target $21.50, above that level has chance for highs at $25
$GNOG: same setup as RSI, first target $20 and then looking for $22-24
$FUBO: looking for $50 to now hold as support, a break over $55 should send it $60+. Short squeeze starting to play out, looking for full profit taking in the $60s
$PTON: earnings on Thursday after hours, if it can hold $145 chance for a pre-earnings run up to $155 range.
$VISL is continuing to hold the trending pattern. If it continues to hold,

Newbies to US Stock Investment

S&P futures up about .35%, market still looking bullish going into today and getting close back at highs. Could be due for a small pullback within the next couple days, still looks strong and holding channel.

I’m still staying pretty aggressive short term plays wise, I’ve been saying that this is likely a strong earnings season for a lot of the big names and keeps pushing the market up. After earnings season passes that’s where I could see the market having a good size pullback with no stimulus catalyst, earnings, etc. I’d guess we start to see that in a month or so while consolidating/pushing towards new highs in the short term. It’s smart not to stay overly bullish or bearish right now.
I know you guys have heard it before, But I will say it again and again! What are the three keys of profitable trading?
1. Proper Entry ( within the lower Bollinger Bands )
2. Proper Sizing ( only 2% of your portfolio )
3. Proper Exit price ( Take 10% profit )
Plays for Today:

$FUBO: healthy pullback Yesterday, was up 25% previously so was more than due for a down day like this. Consolidating in the $48-50 range, I’m expecting the run to continue back up to $60+, earnings beginning of march could pick up some excitement as well. 75% shorted
$BYND: filled the gap all the way down, held that level and started reversal after being oversold. Closed above 50 MA as pointed out on chart and held that level as support today which is a strong sign. Perfect reversal setup, nothing guaranteed in current market obviously but pretty strong conviction for me to continue reversal. Target is $175-180, stop loss below $160
$XPEV: sitting at $46 support, majority of Chinese stocks sold off today. Looks good for bounce here
$NIO: same setup as above, strong support $54-55 and targeting move back up $60+
$CIIC: has been on a slow downtrend for a while, due for a pretty big move soon when it breaks downtrend. Looking to start averaging in here with merger coming up to act as catalyst
$BABA: good earnings today, sold off anyways - something pretty common for BABA. has support at $250, looks good for a potential reversal if it holds $250 for a move back to $270
$AYRO: still consolidating, still more of a play to be patient with as long as it holds support. If it gets volume and breaks out still targeting a move up to $10. I know we have already swing this one a few times since it was even around the 2’s and made great profit each time. Wealth is not accumulated in a day!
$SBE: consolidating for a while in this range, liking it a lot for an entry here with merger coming up in a couple weeks. On a wedge breakout targeting mid $40’s
$TTCF: holding key support level at $23, showing positive RSI divergence as shown at the bottom of the chart. Looks really good here for momentum to continue the uptrend
$QS: testing falling channel breakout, still targeting $46 on full breakout. Good risk/reward play, stop loss below $40 for short term positions
$EHTH: oversold reversal play, support getting established at $48.50, targeting $60 as a longer swing position
$NVDA: earnings on 2/24, tech earnings have been really strong all around. Likely to get earnings run up and has breakout potential out of wedge
$JKS: primed for breakout and big move soon. First target on breakout $75 and second target $80. Stop loss below $60
$CRM: broke above $230 resistance, has a gap to fill up to $240 as the first target and $250 as second target
$NNDM: held and closed above 50 MA, uptrend looks strong for continuation here. Looking for all-time highs on mid-term swing
$GOGO: held support at $12 as higher low, 45% short float. Targeting $15 on bounce, stop loss if it drops below $12 and can’t get back above by end of day
$MARA: btc going on a strong run, crypto plays getting hot. On a breakout looking for it to get back to highs at $29, full upside up to $40 if btc goes on a big run from here

I think it is only risk 2% of your total portfolio per trade in order to limit any potential loss to a fixed amount and avoid having the account wiped off in a scenario where there are consecutive losses.

Position Sizing
As the name suggests position sizing is about knowing how many shares of a stock to purchase based on an initial stop loss and the maximum percentage loss allowed for the total portfolio. For example, you would like to buy BHP shares which are currently trading at $35.5 and you have worked out that you would like to put a stop loss at $32 and would like to risk no more than 2% of your total portfolio.

Here is a breakdown of all the charges on Bamboo!

We currently charge 1.5% on all buy and sell trades. You will see the "Estimated Commission" on the page when you review your Buy/Sell order. At this point you can choose to go ahead and make the trade or not. We will certainly give notice if our Trade Fee is going to change.

Deposits have a 1.4% processing fee on Naira card transactions and barter transactions (capped at 2,000 Naira), a 150 Naira processing fee on Naira bank transfers, while there is a 2.9% processing fee on Dollar card transactions.

There is an extra fee on instant deposits which is 0.1% (with a minimum fee of $1 and a maximum fee of $10). This means that if 0.1% of what you are depositing is more than $10, the extra fee will be $10. However, if 0.1% of what you are depositing is less than $1, the extra fee will be $1.

The processing fees for wire transfers vary across different banks.

If you deposited from a Naira payment option, you can only withdraw to a Naira account. If you deposited from a USD payment option, you can only withdraw to a USD account. There is a withdrawal fee of ₦45 to Naira bank accounts and $45 to USD bank accounts.

Finally, there is a 30% WHT (Withholding Tax) on dividends, which is a mandatory tax taken by the U.S. government for individuals buying stock outside of the U.S.

After months of ruminating over this idea, I am glad to manage the time to create a tread like this.
This tread is to further open Nigerians and foreigners alike who have the same passion of wealth creation via investing in the United States stock markets.
As you may know, the market in the US is mirrored by the indices such as the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA), The Standard & Purse (S&P) and the NASDAQ.
The whole essence is to have a pool of both inexperienced but interested would-be investors, and experienced resource persons who are willing to give back to the society by making informed analysis and opinions on the developments in the world markets and how members of this forum can make informed investment decisions accordingly.
I have tasted a bit of this market and can confirm that the world is a global village and that anyone can trade in the US market and make real US dollars from profits made.
For instance, I took a good look at the newly listed company called Virgin Galactic with thicker symbol (SPCE) and bought some shares at $8.20 on the 9th of December 2019. After watching it for a while and doing some more due diligence, I bought much more on the 10th of December 2019 at $9.23 as it kept rising.
As I type this piece to create this tread today the 4th of February 2020, it is trading at $19.56 per share! And am not a genius.

Gentle men and ladies, we can make a lot of money if we pool our wealth of knowledge and turn it into tangible financial cash cow.

Wow...we are one year old today!

Am so glad to see that we can all come together to share wealth creation ideas and knowledge on investing in the US stock market in harmony.
By this simple act, I can tell you, we have a power that cannot be taken from us: power to make wealth.
