Yeah, I've seen the video, please don't post such a gory image here.

I could count at least 25-30 dead ISWAP members.

All these Special Forces from backwater European countries no one has heard of only flock to Mali to take pictures.

Before you say jack, they are gone.

No real impact on the ground.

LICWs in 5th world nations are ideal for them. You DON'T need the heavy logistical footprint of heavy mech forces required for fighting peer to peer engagements or even 3rd world armies keeping costs low.
Also those Sahelian ISIS are raggedy MOFOS and WOULD rarely inflict real casualties on properly led units so home support is never a problem (though ISHYT can always happen as we saw in Niger).
Where else would they train their light inf AND spec ops? Such real life training missions blood an officer corps allowing opportunities to test effectiveness of training ,weapons and tactics.
Look at the lost of Euro tacticool guys!

Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Sweden and the United Kingdom all made a political commitment to send special forces to Mali in March. French special forces will also participate.

Even Italians are sending their Gucci guys!

If I were Estonian defmin or army chief I'd have stampeded to the Prezs' office begging for the mission!

In fact the JF-17 borrowed quite a lot of it's capabilities from the J-10.

It's the other way around.

China offered the J-10A to Pakistan around 2002 but Pakistan Air Force rejected it.

The JF-17 Thunder was built purely with the mindset that the Pakistani 300 light-weight fighter fleet needed to be replaced by a light-weight fighter that was based on F-16 in technology, avionics and design terms.

The Americans repeatedly warned Pakistan not to use the Pakistani F-16s for the JF-17 Thunder project.

Mali Al Qeada attacks and overruns base.

This is a country that has more than 4,000 French soldiers, nearly 30 Fighter jets including, Rafale, Mirage 2000Ds and Reaper Drones.

Those Estonian photo-ops grin grin special forces serve in this country, yet this sort of brazen attack occurs there.

Pakistan is a poor country.

Pakistan could only afford one aircraft at a time, hence the J-10A was rejected in favour of the JF-17 which is still a Chinese plane.

The JF-17 has similar capabilities with the J-10A.

Pakistan is now interested in the J-10C.

Pakistan needed to replace all legacy 3rd Generation jets, China built the JF-17 light multirole aircraft for Pakistan.

The JF-17 is similar to the Gripen in capabilities, it is not in any way, similar to the F-16.

The JF-17 is a Chinese plane, Pakistan provided financial assistance for the program.

That's why all prototypes and eventual production models fly out from CAC Chengdu.

For the sanity of this pictures thread, can we all just agree that any item procured by Nigeria is the best of its class and best in Africa?

Now can we move on? FFS!
