Yes there is a difference. You'll use the work invitation which is more like a job offer to apply to come to Poland

please I need to know how the Poland work visa works for my dad. He studied in Poland in the 80s and speaks polish excellently well.

What is his age, because based on his history he will be able to find a job and easily advance there also.
Just there is age limit for some of the job openings upto 50yrs

You will need the original copies with authorised wet ink and stamp
