For those of you who are happy about the arrest of these harmless unarmed and peaceful protesters and the inhumane treatment being given out to them; remember this very well...these guys have committed no crimes and do not deserve this. Even the worst military regime on earth will think twice before doing this. I have always maintained that APC and PDP, Nigerian politicians and the elite are the one and the same and only problem of Nigeria. Like CHIBUIKE AMAECHI rightly said killing everyone and restarting this nation seems to be the only viable solution even though it sounds impossible. All this little wickedness will only endear the masses to reject the APC at the next general polls. You are not supposed to treat even aterrorist this way. What's happened to freedom.Little things like this started the Arab spring. The ruling party needs to be careful over these little things. Allow people protest so long as its not peaceful. Nigerians can be docile and stubborn at the same time and when u least expect. The ruling party can't handle terrorists in the north, things like these will encourage more and more youths to take up arms against the government and established institutions both in the east and west too. This is 2021 and this is Nigeria and not North Korea |

As it is now, if the government of Nigeria at any level says we are in the year 2021, people are still going to doubt them. It's that bad. Otherwise, how can people just see a recorded video of people in a danfo bus and not ask questions but accept it. The action of the police is condemnable, no doubt. But people arrested by the police in a yellow bus? Plus... I don't know when police started removing people's clothes on transit and allowing other people to film them. We need to be careful about what we accept. I don't support this government in any way but I won't take every shit doled out online without applying common sense. Chai this is bad o, at least we should have learnt from the last protest, dem suppose dey strategic in planning this protest now, naija govt no dey hear protest wey people just dey shout with placard, now they’ll use this guys as serious scape, they’ll take out all their anger on them, even some average Nigerians which their properties was damaged during the last protest will support the police on this one. Abeg all this energy make we channel am towards 2023 and start planning a strategic way to remove all this old cargo from power because no matter what this country will never be better as long as we recycle old cargoes into power be it Yoruba or Hausa it will all end it tears for everyone but this APC na worst o chai, see anarchy loading everywhere, some people that think all this no concern me doesn’t know what can befall them or their loved ones before 2023, this is country is going down... 1 Like |

Bond136:The battle was lost the minute the Army came to Lekki and the protesters ran away. You should look at how change is done in other countries, the protesters dont run away!!!! That protest was spontaneous, this was organised, it was always bound to fail. There is a difference between protest and civil unrest. the last civil unrest (disturbing others from going about their daily job) was tolerated because it was spontaneous this time people seeking clout gave notice which gave authorities time to quell them. He has a right to protest whether there is covid or not so long as its peaceful. If mass gatherings are that bad why is your government forcing people to queue up for NIN in the middle of the covid. I used to think the APC was a lesser evil than the PDP, but you guys have proved the whole world wrong especially in the area of Human Rights and respect for the rule of law. Nigeria is the easiest place in the whole wide world right now to hack people to death and go Scot free. Nothing works and you have no rights unless u are elite. Rich or have political connections. I am a Nigerian, I am not happy the protests failed but we must understand why these protests always fail. The protesters were not strategic and walked into their hands. it is a grave sin for such a powerful moment to be led by people who had no plan, no stragtegy because in doing so, they will discourage people for a generation. It is a moment we have collectively failed to seize because of the idiots leading the protests and for that reason I am annoyed!!!! How on Earth do you go to Lekki toll gate again to protest and not expect what happenned to happen, how on Earth do you plan a protests during a pandemic when even the Attorney general has come out to say gatherings over 50 are banned under legal health laws and expect not to be arrested? You have clout, you have social media, there are elkections in 2023, why dont they use their brains and mobilize for elective office in 2023? You will likely abuse me but only because you dont realise how a moment to actualise change in this country was missed for a generation because the movement was led by idiots and bufffonns who had no plan!!!!
