During the stay at home period coupled with ASUU strike, i hardly studied like I did at sch. In fact, I've gone several weeks then without opening my books aside reading novels online.

Now we're back to sch, and each time I read, assimilation is always so tasking that is now becoming frustrating for me. Exam is just around the corner, and for someone aiming to perform excellently, this shouldn't be happening cry

This is why girls leave NL and never come back. Guys create posts (even useless ones sometimes) and get responses. But when a girl does, she's either insulted or sexualised. Sometimes, I'm happy the white man has more power than the black man cause the way blacks discriminate without even knowing it is alarming.

Say no sexism, especially misogyny.

Break your course work into smaller bits and focus on assimilating these smaller bits and in no time you will be back to your previous standard.

Do a lot of revision. After each study session, before you start a new study session revise and try to recall what you read before. The more you you do this, the better your ability to remember

You seem stressed seeing that exams are close, learn to relax. Practice mindfulness and focus only on the present.

Wish you success in your upcoming exams

I do that as well. That has always been my method of study( as semester begins) and even now...but I just feel I'm not doing enough.

I think you need to release, zero your mind from anything dats distracting you. If not because of the test, I will advice you to close your books for good two days, trust me you will be anticipated to read, you will so much be in the mood to open your book. I guess you just lost interest on reading.

In fact, most of the things I'm reading now are what I've read prior the strike.
I hate chunking my brain and that's why I read everyday.

Closing my books wouldn't work, because I won't rest if I do not read except we are on semester break.

Wakeup in the middle of night and pray then proceed to read your book. God willing you will be your old self.

Well to an extent I can try, but for my sch that most classes begin at 8am and if you fail to come into the class at the stipulated time, some lecturers go lock door ni or stops you from entering. Hence, to reach such classes on time, you have to get to the class prior 8am at most few minutes past 8

Just keep trying
Don't force yourself to go long hours at a stretch or else its gonna be a waste of time
If you read for like an hour at a time and it works, stick with it for a day or two then try extending the periods
You'll return to your old configuration settings in no time

it happens: you ought to know that by now.

Try to study using some of the past questions from preceding sets, hit down important points when you read, so that even if you don't know it exactly, you have an idea of what it is. (works for me)

Well the Brain is like a muscle when you challenge it daily or constantly it mopps Information rapidly but when left idle it reverts to a rock and can't absorb much detailed info. I even experienced such but with constant reading and answering past questions relative to your course your Brain will bounce back.
... Don't be too hard on yourself, dust your books, watch YouTube videos that will help you in your course
