A lady, Nana Aisha, who says she is an eyewitness has shared an account of the incident that caused the Hausa/Yoruba clash in Shasha, Ibadan in Oyo state.

The crisis led to such hashtags as #StopOyoMassacre, #StopKilingNortherners on social media.

The lady while sharing eyewitness account said:

"This is Nana Aisha reporting from Shasha, Ibadan.
Please guys, I have been reading a lot of posts saying that the Northerners are at fault, the Northerners are killing people. Please this is just a total misunderstanding."

"This is the accurate story of what happened because I was there. A Niger man carried a basket of tomatoes, he fell down and the tomatoes all poured on the floor in front of a Yoruba woman's shop. The woman told the Niger man to pack the tomatoes and also wash her shop. The Niger man was like this is a market, there is no where he's going to get water to wash the woman's shop. He pleased with her but she refused. She said she will not leave him alone unless he washed her shop."

"Then another Yoruba man jumped into the conversation, slapped the Niger man. Immediately, the Niger man also slapped the Yoruba man back. Immediately the Niger man slapped the Yoruba man, the Yoruba man slipped on the floor and fainted. People gathered and took him to the hospital where he was reported dead. People were shocked that one slap killed the Yoruba man."

"So one idiot that was there posted rubbish online. He said an Hausa man slapped a Yoruba man to death."

"Shasha thugs got angry and started killing Hausas. They thought it was really Hausa people that started the war, they didn't know it's a Niger man that slapped someone to death, not an Hausa man. So, please guys, whenever you want to post, investigate before posting, don't just post rubbish. Just one post started a war. Just one post has killed many people...."

The predominant tribe of Niger state is nupe.

Or was she refering to Niger republic?

Anyway it's stupid how we blame entire groups of people for the actions of individuals.

As long as the ENTIRE GROUP do not speakup against the criminality of some of their tribesmen, as long as they condone what they do, due to tribal affiliation, as long as they side with the Evil a few of them do, ALL OF THEM will be treated as Criminals.

Your statement above is DAFT!
If you dont want to fall into a bad group, make sure you do everything possible to show, speak-up, identify and EXPOSE those bad ones among you, so that everyone will know you are not protecting them.
You can by GUILTY BY ASSOCIATION, you know. undecided undecided

But we all know that this trouble is about Fulanis Worldwide heeding the call of Buhari, to come and claim Nigeria for their tribe, they have confirmed it many, many times, saying "Nigeria belongs to the Fulanis".
They have failed even before starting, Other Nigerians, especially Muddle Belt and Southern Nigeria will fight them to the last Man standing.

Anyone that believes this "eye witness" so called story is an slowpoke, firstly, a yoruba man can never just jump and slap a hausas man because it is not in our blood to be provocative without being pushed, and also to an hausas man for that matter, known for killing at the slightest provocation, secondly, the pregnant woman was beating by the hausas man according to several eye witness and she later died in hospital but the sponsored agent cleverly ommitted that, not to talk of the mayhem that followed by other hausas traders defending their fellow mindlessly in their usual manner, some years ago a igbo woman was beheaded in kano for arguing with an hausas man and all the hausas there beheaded her and carried the head on a stick round the market, the woman was a pastors wife, with all the precedent of hausas being barbaric and animalistic in their behavior I'm surprised anyone will believe they are innocent, it's because of their violent tendency that mile 12 market was moved, they are time bomb and associating with them is suicide

Those from Niger are called the gwaris and gbagis. They're not Hausa. Only 7 states in Nigeria are Hausa's namely, kano, katsina, jigawa, kebbi, zamfara, jigawa, sokoto all called Hausa bakwai cos they speak one dialect.
Kindly check the Nigerian history. Hausa is a dialect and Niger is a state where 70% don't understand nor speak Hausa.

The damage has been done!!

The person that even use slap to kill the Yoruba is even a Hausa speaking Nigerien migrant not a Hausa nor a fulani man!

But they decided to attack and start killing the Hausas!!

There are groups of alleged criminal herdsmen in Oyo and Ogun who are busy killing people in their communities!!

But those guys can't confront them... They go for innocent Hausas...

they know that Hausas hardly retaliate and will be easy for them to attack...

they gang up in millions against the innocent Hausas that trusted and believe in the society they've been living for years!

Where are those southerners telling us how much they love the Hausas... Telling us how peaceful and nice the Hausas are...

Telling us that Fulanis are the only trouble makers in the north...

Oya come and defend the Hausas...

Why attacking and burning down their business??

Why turning their women to widows for absolutely no reason?

The Hausas that just last week you are all Over the media telling us how much you love them.

Telling them that fulanis are their enemies!!

Why are you killing them??

Rip to innocent legit hustlers that were killed in Oyo state!!

They didn't kill...

They didn't theif...

They didn't rape any one...

They didn't commit any crime!!

They were attacked and killed because they're Hausas from northern Nigeria!!

Rip to the innocent souls who were killed while hustling to put food on the dinner table of their families!!

Which killing? Where are the dead bodies? Photoshop. No Hausa man was killed.

By the way, there are indigenous hausas in niger state. The kotongara senatorial zone of niger state are hausas

What in hell do you mean by Kontagora senatorial zone?

If you are talking about Niger north senatorial district. There is no Hausa' indigène there. All the Hausa fulanis in Kontagora or anywhere in Niger state are all settlers just like the Hausas in Jos, Kafanchan or Taraba.
The Indigenes of Niger north are mostly Kambari people, then you have Dukawas and some Lelna in Rijau, some Nupes in parts of Mashegu/Wushishi, and Busa/Bariba/Batoonu people in Borgu LGA.

Even in Kebbi south senatorial district which is northwards of Niger north, there is no Hausa' indigenous communities there.

Hausas are only very much tolerated in Niger state unlike a place like Jos, because a good number of these indigenous tribes are Muslims and hence they easily blend together with Hausas.

Any place you don't find Indigenous Hausa' villages or rural areas like you have in Katsina or Jigawa state, such a place can never be Hausa' land.
