Nigerians can be such a dummy.

Some experts prefer using their bare hands because that way, they can have a real feel of whatever they are holding. Especially when it is something very dangerous. Some people can't cope with wearing gloves and all that. This is not a surgery room, he can use is bear hands provided his commanding officer approves.

A trending video has emerged showing the moment some brave officers of ‘Operation Tura Takai Bango’ discovered and countered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED), in Kafan Ruwa town.

However, the video showed an army officer believed an expert in this field scraping up sand with bare hands to unearth an IED reportedly buried by Boko Haram terrorists.

Alhough, no anti-explosive body armor was worn by the soldier. Information gathered revealed that he successfully removed the explosives without any casualty.

Some soldiers use there bare hands because the want to have a real feel it. The gloves can slip, sometimes the gloves don't give that grip and maneuvering that they need. There is nothing unprofessional there as lond as your commanding officer gives the go ahead. Its not new in the military. Also, you should know that irrespective of equipment or no equipment, if an explosion occurs, he will not survive.
