Are you self sponsoring or you have a sponsor? .let your sponsor submit his/her bank statement ie MBS plus the mutual funds Certificate, stating that the money was kept there for the travel purpose...same thing I did though

Please did your bank send the MBS directly to the embassy or you printed and uploaded

Good day everyone, so I just checked my profile and saw that I’ve been denied the study permit on the basis of the VO not been convinced or whatever that I will return to my country after study. I intend or appealing the case or reapplying depending on what I see after my GCMS notes. Still trying to process the hurt but it is well.
Now my only problem is that I booked for medicals UPfront with Qlife thinking the next stage was going to be medical request. But oh well, so now my confusion is do I still go ahead to do the medicals as my application has been denied or do I ask for a refund from Qlife given the situation on ground.
I’m sincerely confused pls Gurus in the house I will appreciate if you can provide answers. Thank you in anticipation. Never thought I will see myself I this situation

Good Evening guys,
Please I am new here. I would like to post my timeline here so I can get advice on what to do.

My Study permit application would be A year old next month
Paper application. Timeline
- Applied: 20th March 2020.
- Biometrics done 20th March 2020
-Admission deferred to winter 2021- June 25th
- Got AIP (Approval-in-principle) : 25th September 2020
- Medical Request: 1st October 2020
- Document Request (New LOA):- 5th October
- Document Sent:- 6th October
- Medical Updated to Passed: 14th October 2020.
- Linked paper application to online acct:- Jan 20th, 2021.
- Online classes begun on 7th January 2021.

And No news from them since then. Is there anyone here with a Similar Timeline?

Hello Samycage,

There are lots of March 2020 applicants still waiting. Since you've gotten AIP and Medical pass, just relax or you could request for your notes to see the last activity on your application or when last it was opened by a VO.

Follow up with continuous messaging and make IRCC like a client that subscribed for newsletters.

Hello Adeola317,

I don't know if the statement is to the DLI or IRCC. If it's the former, don't use that as an excuse. You can use something relating to a change in your family or financial situation.

If it concerns IRCC, hold on. BTW, what is the given reason by the DLI for withholding the other 5k?

Best of Luck

Thanks For replying

They said they will refund the rest only if application was refused and other reasons I dnt even know.
Am so confused....
Application is 17weeks now

Another thing
I submitted Acess bank statement (my bank statement)
And VO sent a request for First bank statements
.but I have first bank account I dnt know why, I submitted it along Acess bank with LOE

YOU DON'T NEED TIES IN CANADA, "they want you to come back to your home country after studying"(in quote) so your home tie should be very strong. Leave your siblings in Canada out of your application, it worked against me in my first application so had to remove it in my LOE in the 2nd application. Let the money be your mums account as lump sum towards SP application is a concern for the VO. like let your mum write a letter of support that the money would be made available for your trip and this is the total amount shes dropping ( 1st year fees plus living expenses)

Thanks for this information. When submitting this, my personal bank account statement isn't impressive. Should i submit it as well?

And also, if the money was made available in my mum's account within the span of a month, but spread. Would it be suspicious?

Bear in mind it would be kept in there for as long as six months before my application. I also fear that using my mum's account, 30K out of it would leave it almost empty, which might be suspicious, as opposed to her doing a lump sum deposit with a gift deep to my account. Any advice on this?

PS: I plan on using NSE

Thanks again.

FrostyButter:
Hello house... As regards my proof of funds, my mum was able to secure 30k CAD to put in my account which is very sufficient for my tuition plus expenses for a year. She also would be supporting it with a gift letter, being that i haven't had that much deposit in my account. Would also be keeping it there for 6 months.

Is my account statement with this amount alone sufficient, cause she had to drain her account for this.

Also as regards ties in Nigeria, she also made a gift letter of transfer as regards one of her housings properties. She had a health issue last year she is recovering from. Should i also put that as ties to my country, supporting it with medical reports?

I have cousins working in canada professionally. Would they serve as ties in canada, and should i include them?

I also have a letter from the company i work for (a professional one in line with my course of study) promising employment upon completion of study.

Would these be sufficient for proof of funds and ties back home and in canada. Thanks.

Hello FrostyButter,

You're well on track with the pointers, but don't include or mention your cousins. Leaving the funds in your account for that duration of time is good.

If you're above 18, you could be self-sponsored by going through the NSE route. This will save the headache of showing an insufficient BS for your moms if including her as either sponsor or cosponsor.

You can also get her to include a Support Letter to the Deed Gift.

Hi good morning, it seems like pple that didn't submit NSE documents might not get a decision easily . Hv applied since October 2020 and I didn submit NSE, followed the normal route, till date hv not gotten a decision.

Hello Emy31,

This isn't far from the truth, but there are still October 2020 applicants that went through the NSE route on similar situation.

I think these guys are currently processing applications randomly instead of who submitted first.

Cheers!

Thank a lot justmellow. My plan is to go through the NSE route, by having my mum deposit the amount in my account. Yes, i am above 18 going for Msc. I was recently advised to use her account for sponsorship, my only fear is, once the 30k CAD which is the requirement is removed from her account, it would almost be empty and seem suspicious.

Hello all, can i apply to any of the career college for a pgd program?
won't there be any issues with study permit?

Hello Jimikata,

As long as the college is amongst the approved or recognized DLI by IRCC as published on their website, you're good. However, ensure to go for a study interest that demonstrates progression and which you can easily offset its tuition cost.

As stated by IRCC, MBS can be in either the name of the sponsor or applicant. If you have both, no hard including them together.

Good morning everyone. Submitted my application Jan 31st, just got my NSE request. They only asked for my bank statement since I already submitted my ielts. My question is, my funds are in stanbic mutual funds investment and they do not have mybankstatement for it. Pls how do I go about this? Plus the request letter stated a link where i can obtain mybankstatement. I'm a little bit confused. Please if you have used mutual funds or fixed deposits, how did u got about submitting this as NSE

Hello MsJanez01,

It is not hidden that most Nigerian financial institution do not issue MBS. If possible, reprint your BS and write an LOE on the impossibilities or reason why you can't present MBS. If the BS reprint isn't possible, upload the previously submitted in addition to the LOE.

Apologies for the late response.

My question is this: Could one be prevented from entry into Canada if the deferred and new admission letter is now stating mode of delivery as ONLINE due to the pandemic. Not saying it's hybrid( maybe a mix of online and inclass).

This concern is also based on something I read on the IRCC website, someone also raised this concern a few days ago but there was no response.

I have also sent a mail to the school awaiting their response. All in all tuition has been paid and they might only be concern about that.

Kindly find below for your perusal.

I welcome other response also. Many thanks.

Hello Metari1,

IRCC themselves don't abide to their own rules. If you should decide to place close observation, many already travelled students has their admission letters station Online.

As long as the program originally isn't online, I don't see any issue here, if asked at the POE, the onus is now on you to be bold and proffer intelligent responses. I know of someone that travelled in early January and the mode of study in the LOA was Online when literally, it's suppose to be In-person.

As tweeted this week by IRCC, International students enrolled in a recognized DLI or has been approved can now study abroad until December 31, 2021 and still be eligible for the PGWP.

Though on their website, the above was also acknowledged, but with a specified date as tweeted by them.
