Nigerians with weird mentality. Isn't it the same way you guys prefer to support Madrid over Enyimba? It's all about choice and preferences. If your country ain't playing good football, you can easily support any nation of your choice. Who patriotism help for sports? You see German citizens who are of Croat and Polish descent supporting where they're originally from over a country that gives them welfare. Different strokes for different folks. You guys should quit trying so hard to rubbish Messi's greatness.

This part is the lowest low I ever saw in my fandom. They were happy we lost to Argentina all because of Messi.

Beautiful point the bolded.

Even the Uscable that brought up this subject in up to 10 years of knowing him, I have never seen him make any post on any Nigerian club thread.

Always doing halla Madrid. He even supported Raul over Okocha one time.

Now here's for some good laugh.. grin grin grin

Someone crossed me, I don't know what it was.

It defends Levante's southern goal

The ghost that Atletico Madrid crashed into:

Someone crossed me, I don't know what it was

Atletico Madrid stumble at Levante
Oblak to Correa's rescue

Levante fans called it the 'White Lady' and there is a genuine belief that a ghost defends the southern goal at the Ciutat de Valencia.

This is the goal where Angel Correa made one of the most notorious blunders in LaLiga Santander on Wednesday.

The Atletico Madrid forward was only three metres away from the goal, had the goalkeeper beaten and somehow fired the ball over the crossbar.

It was Duda back in 2005 who also made a similar mistake at the same end, and he was adamant that some form of force had crossed his path.
"Someone crossed me, I don't know what it was, but it's what I saw at that moment," Duda explained.

Shortly after that, Levante explained that back in 2003 four supporters died in a car accident whilst travelling to watch their team, and their ashes were scattered around the goal of the southern end.

You need to watch that miss by Correa to better appreciate the humour in this.

My brother I tire. You rarely find Germans support the big teams, a lot of them support their local clubs. Just a few days ago, a local team that got promoted to the Bundesliga this season put up a scintilating performance against Bayern's Hans flick.

Well, you brought it up yourself. I can support Nigeria in Africa Cup of Nations but World Cup is a different ball game. You've got to be realistic

come 2028 we will see whether Argentina's love (sorry Messi's love) will have washed away and your sense of Nigerianess would have returned.

Firstly, I'm not a Madrid fan, but then that's by the way.

And I've not seen anyone that supports Portugal "solely" cos of Ronaldo but you are the 2nd person I've seen supporting Argentina over Nigeria and I find it weird.
That's why I brought up the Croatian team as example. Maybe perhaps, you've a root In Argentina cos I dont see the rationale behind it (just because messi is there). If Argentina is your 2nd footballing team, that's wholly understandable, but over Nigeria??
Weird!!

it was a very long dragging here then. them plenty oooo.
shamelessly wishing Messi (NOT ARGENTINA) wins. If Messi was playing for Ghana or Cameroon or even South Africa these shameless lots will pray they trounce Nigeria too.

Not a single Madrid fans supported or wished Portugal well above Nigeria.

Even reading through comments earlier I read where someone was comparing supporting clubs to supporting country as the same, saying it's hypocritical to support a foreign club and claim one can't support a foreign country and I'm like how??

I mean we choose our clubs, but we don't choose our country. Our country chose us, some comparing those two is just way way off. They is a reason one can play for 1000 different clubs in different country and nobody will raise an eyelid, but a player is officially meant to play for one country (weda he likes it or not). Comparing those two just to give an excuse why you should support another country over your own country is one of the lowest low in support of something. Like you said, if messi was a Cameroonian or Ghanian, they would even support his country at afcon over Nigeria and another silly ready made excuse would be available

People dey sha

NB: I'm not against supporting any other footballing country of your choice in tournaments or matches. Far from it.
But supporting a country over your birth country especially wen you're not affiliated in anyway to that footballing country is just weird

How you miss the word "descent" in order to pass your point is what I don't understand.

A German citizen of Polish descent has the right to support which ever or both of the two countries cos he's affiliated to both.

How you support Argentina over Nigeria when you're not a descent or citizen of Argentina is ... Mehn!!!!

And how you even turn around saying those criticising your decision is just a way of "rubbishing messi greatness" is just so damn laughable

Jump off the wagon of hypocrisy the very same way you jumped on it.

1. Let it be known, In a head to head football match involving the Super Eagles and any other Nation; it would be 1 million percent support for the Super Eagles.

2. In a competition involving the Super Eagles and 31 other Nations, there are opportunities to support 2, 3, or even 4 of your favourite footballing Nations.
(Your motherland might not necessarily be your favourite footballing nation).

One might support the Super Eagles and still support Argentina, Portugal, Brazil or any other side you wish.

They are not mutually exclusive events. Until they meet in the competition.

Thunder fire any lying Ronaldo stan boy who would coman and claim that they did not wish that Portugal and Ronaldo won the world cup in 2018, while still supporting their motherland.
