Good evening, please I'm new here. I want to apply for Canadian work visa/permanent residence, please which IELTS am I to write. Will the general IELTS give me the privilege to work in formal organizations or should I write the IELTS Ukvi exam?. Thanks
ielts general. Ielts also has nothing to do with work. Only needed for Canadian immigration purposes not work. Except for some occupations that require academic ielts for licensing e.g nursing

Good day everybody ,

Is there anyone here in Saint John , New Brunswick. I am arriving soon and have been trying to book an apartment on Airbnb for self isolation. Almost all are shared apartments.

I won’t mind any advice or other alternatives

Thanks

You could look at getting a basement room even in a shared house so long as you adhere strictly to not interacting or talking to anyone in the house and you make pre-arrangement to have all your needed supplies left at your doorstep.

Alternatively, you could consider doing your quarantine in a close by city with more housing options and then move afterwards.

You people that are traveling this month and next month, you do realise that stringent travel restrictions are currently in place. They are bouncing people seriously at the airport. Today, over 150 people were asked to go back. If your COPR is after March 18th, I suggest you check very well before booking your flight.

Canada no be like Nigeria oh... they will bounce you sharply.

Yes. When I got my ECA from WES the DoB stated on it as seen on my transcript for my 1st degree was totally different from what I had filled in my WES application. I sent WES documents to prove my correct DOB. But after one month of waiting, I was told my school would have to send another transcript to them.
I was not ready for that stress. So, I went ahead to submit my application and wrote an LOE explaining the mistake. I also attached every document pre-university that showed my correct DoB (national ID card, birth certificate, baptismal card, WAEC certificate). There was no unusual delay in my application process and the GCMs notes I ordered didn't even mention it.

JIREN01:
Please, did anyone experience discrepancies in the DOB between transcripts an other documents. The DOB on my transcripts is '96, while other documents, including WAEC and passport, bear '97. The process for rectification of DOB by my school is very long. Please help me.

Hello Guys,
Please I'm in a bit of a quagmire situation here and need your advice.
I just landed Calgary and in Day 5 of my quarantine and plan to hit the ground running as soon as I'm done with quarantine. But I'm trying to apply for my
i) SIN
ii) Bank account
iii) Phone line.

The issue is to get SIN, I need proof of address in my name which can be bank statements/letter or utility bill which I have none, I'm will be staying at a relatives place for the first few weeks/months.

Now the 2nd issue is to open a bank account i need a valid Canadian ID which I also have none until I get my Pr card which the immigration officer has told me can take up to 2 months to come through the mail.

So does this mean I have to wait for my Pr card before I can start applying for these things??

Please guys, those that have come before me, how did you do it?

Buy a prepaid sim card on Amazon. (Koodo is $10 - check if the network is fine in your area on whistleout.ca). You can open an account with your Naija passport and COPR. Check the bank website to book an online session (I'm sure you can do this with RBC). Request for account statement/ debit card immediately. You can then use the statement/ letter in the debit card envelope as proof of address for SIN registration.

What is the average income of a migrant who works in Canada when his/her qualification is SSCE and what is the average amount of feeding expenses for one person in Canada?

Also, what type of jobs are available for someone with such qualification.

Thanks.

Ok... Thank you I did just this.. Application submitted.

We had the same challenge as you. We simply got the statement of account and I signed a letter to show that my spouse has free and unfettered access to the account for the purpose of immigration. This was in early 2019 and we've received ppr. I don't know if this method is still acceptable now.

Hi guys,
I intend on moving my Pof from my mutual funds account to a domiciliary account. I hope that it wouldn't be an issue when I land as I await CoPR.
