Former Presidential candidate, Oby Ezekwesili has stated that Nigerians are not yet ready for good governance, Igbere TV reports.

In a tweet she shared, the former Minister of Education said Nigerians absolutely enjoy and believe they deserve to be poorly governed, and politicians understand this.

Ezekwesili added that when citizens are ready, it will end.

She tweeted;

“I will repeat it yet again. Citizens of Nigeria are not yet ready for Good Governance. They absolutely enjoy and believe they deserve to be poorly governed.

“The Politicians know this and dish Bad Governance in large doses to them. When citizens are ready, it will end.”

well, she is right. That is good I heard some people debating who to vote for come 2023 and which party was worse off between APC and PDP, when I told them that they were both brothers of different mothers, they told me “shebi PDP is still better small" and all I could think of was wow, see blatant support for mediocrity. They didn't even know the people contesting, but they had already decided that the better of the two evils will get their vote.

At a time when the country is in dire need of constitutional reforms and all-round holistic reforms in all spheres of governance, it's lawmakers are executing solar street lights projects that would barely last 6 months.


Honestly, I think lawmakers are the first and major problems we are having. The power to impeach an erring executive, to reform or rewrite a part of constitution that is against the people etc lies with them. But what are the doing.
