I think your understanding of the operational term "Employee and Employer " need to be brushed up.

An employee is a person employed for wages or salary. Bolt or Uber don't pay you wages nor salary rather you Pay them commission.

If the terms and condition of operation is exclusive to Uber or bolt it's a generic practice....just like Facebook , Instagram and other social service apps have theirs. They block rider and as well as Drivers.

Going by your perspective, if Dru gives felicity a car on rental to drive using the bolt and Uber platform, who is Felicity employer?

Need I even tell you that the relationship between a renter and a rentee is not that of an employment relationship, it's just a business relationship as long as the renter pays an agreed commission.

Pin this statement. That news shared by madam rad about Uber drivers now regarded as employee in the USA, watch how Uber will draft an employee handbook which will offer them more control over the drivers.

Peace

Just reading it here.

I think its a good thing. I never used uber but my short experience on bolt, I can draw the same conclusion. For my sanity I had to delete the app, beyond the fact that it was(is) pushing drivers to slavery, it was empowering riders to treat drivers like shit.

On indriver, I have experienced even 5% of the bullshit riders tried with me on bolt and I guess its because they indriver arrangement creates a more independent arrangemnt for drivers.

Bolt's system of forcing drivers to take all trips, setting fares and wait time policy has made hs created riders with very nasty attitude. I suspect these same riders will use indriver and behave like normal human being. Let me cite specific behaviours:

- insisting a driver takes a particular route because its their money (on indriver I notice they plead not demand, and I have almost always turned it down by simply telling them it distorts the pricing arrangement)

-insisting driver makes several stops and even wait a particular time (also because they believe the N10 per min charge is adequate compensation for waiting). I have never experienced this in almost 1 year on indriver, I experienced it every week on bolt .

-accusing drivers of being fraudulent for taking a particular route or because of the eventual fare charge. Na this one dey pain me pass because some of them are not up to my subordinate at work and I could honestly have waived the fare if they had asked

-asking drivers to run errands for riders intrip

In almost 1 year of indriver and not taking 1/10th of the shit some riders attempted to try with me while I used bolt.

Also, my bolt rating was always round 4.3-4.5 largely because many riders knew they punitive way the rating works and take advantage of it to "punish drivers". Imagine being on 4.6 and one single rider with nasty attitude still rewards your tolerance and patience by sending it to 4.4.

I salute drivers on bolt, youve got to hve a very thick skin

Bolt and Uber don't pay you wages but who decides how much you collect per trip? If you're self employed you should be able to choose how much you want for any trip. Forget how the system is structured, they're still the ones paying the wages, for instance if it's card trips a driver did for a whole week, at the end of the week his net would be calculated and paid to him the following week.

As for the dru and feli illustration, the platform is still feli's employer. Dru's business is with feli. He doesn't and shouldn't care whether feli is driving for bolt or uber or even offline, make him own money sha complete as at when due.

Well said! The only issue with Indrive for now is the price, at the end they some what determine the price for both riders and drivers and here riders won't go beyond indrivers estimation, drivers r forced to accept price due to competition among each other. I wish they can work on that, since they pick price inproportion to time and distance whereby in some cases the map picks the wrong route and time, leaving drivers to be at the receiving end.

I am strictly on uber and indriver since this year started and I have peace of mind and no toxic riders since January.
uber app with so many feature that favour you as a driver, like checking up on you when you are static for a long time, you can even ask them to follow your journey and some1 giving you 1star will not affect your ratings like bolt but with bolt you are at the mercy of your riders, so many toxic riders with nasty attitude.

grin boss b calming down, I can relate, it's normal to celebrate wins most especially when u grow wearin footwear wit holes or suede polished to leather, but needless they say, not all clothes r meant to b expose out- rightly in the sun, some information is better left in the heart of the wisher. Stories in life can b in two ways, feeding the ego or charge for motivation to others, but u know the story of when things get too much, mostly it leads to casting.

Let me tell u a story I told a friend who was able to secure a job at the bank after service. Everyday pictures in the office "morning tea" "stressful meeting" "crazy coworker"... we r close like d intention was for us to date, but didn't get to complete that, so I talk to her with pure heart. I have to call her to reduce the number of pictures and info she puts online, I don't like to concern myself with people activities online, but I shoulder her responsibility and so it's in my place to look out for her.... told her if she's aware she have great number of peeps seeking for job sitting at home with frustration all over them? Is she trying to bless dia morning or add more to dia sorrow? Does she know the number of people that has been sacked and can't take such picture again, but after 10 yrs, now back to zero, thinking out dia lives? She mallow on that and get the real gist yrs after, sacked last year during covid, no kobo in account. Now she have a new stressful job with better pay, but no one knows how the desk of her office looks like. So boss in a brother way, don't count ur eggs...

I'm not a fan of this myth, but somwot I struggled with it, which is things get more complicated the more one reveal his or her next plan. How true is dis? I was the one that said I was going to get a matrix last month, but seems like I'm not doing again, not that I don't have the cash, maybe it's one of those things of letting d cat of out the bag.

Lastly I feel it aid if one have this in mind, one treasure is another man's trash, all d savings you use 20/30/40 something years of ur life to gather is what one stupid nonsense arrogant small boy O, use to blow drinks in quilox grin this life no just fair, let's just b grateful.

I'm currently using one. Bros, the leg issue is not a lie, my own leg dey pull every one month. The car engine is superb, but u see that leg, u will work it till u get frustrated. Other than the leg, the car runs well, service the car on time and u won't have any engine problem

Stop buying the brand new bole joints...

Every of that car has different type of bile joint, some are slim, some big and some are the exact for your car.

Take out time to get the right one making sure it's tightens very well without any allowance when fixed on the provided space.

Make sure you weird so it doesn't tangle, don't use that ring pin it doesn't hold it well.

The brand new once are cheap but it won't last you for a long time. Inside it is a plastic that makes noise when it's about to pull off.

The Tokunbo one is best and last longer provided you get the right one. Look for it from a competent mechanic workshop and see the difference in trying to explain to you. This can last you 1yr or more if you watch the roads you go to. Some if these dealers take the new one, dirty it and sell them as tok. So be careful when buying a ton one.

I used EOD for 3-4yrs and each of the legs pulled just once or twice I think.

The doors, power steerimg pump, AC system and the gear are some of the parts that can also be frustrating in this car but if properly manage you'll enjoy the car.

Some will even have the audacity to tell you to keep the AC running during the stop. When you refuse, you hear things like, what if we are in traffic, will you turn off your AC? Am I not paying for it? e.t.c

I have been thinking about this for quite some time now. Uber and Bolt drivers are supposed to be on payroll.

If Uber or Bolt don't want to regard them as staff then they should stop collecting commissions just like Indriver simple.

I don't think it is possible because the engine works hand in hand with the hybrid if the engine dies or has issues it affects the battery .. It is like 1 cant live without the other ..

And knowing how our mechanics can become very creative at times anything that is been converted to what the manufacture not intended to be will end in tears

Good morning my people, I just did bolt registration now, but all through the process there was no part where I can upload my inspection report. I was told I will be contacted via my mail after the 5 stages of registration.
My question is - Does that normally come after I have been activated or not? Thanks

As an HR person, I probably don't have much information about their operations abroad. But then using the Nigeria operation as a case study, I would say drivers can't be regarded as a employee to the Ehailing company..

The Ehailing company has very limited control over the operations of the drivers.

As a matter of fact in their organigram rider will have a higher placing than drivers.

They are more of a service provider, we the drivers are the real transport scheme.

Let's imagine it this way that when bolt or Uber entered Nigeria they went to the yellow taxi asso to pitch their idea of creating a system whereby they can easily link prospective riders to them and they all embrace it, are we going to call the taxi people their employee.

As long as what bolt and Uber provide is the App to connect both riders and drivers....the drivers still remain an independent body.

Somebody that creates revenue and profit for your company is what?

If they're not employees who then are employees? Those girls sitting at the office? Or the security men? Does sitting at the office brings money into bank account?

Why do they take commission? For the app? Rubbish!
Why dont they have single car?

They should stop collecting commissions if they don't want to regard drivers who own their cars as employee.

Or does the fares drivers get from rides substacial to buy then a good car, maintain their car, do fueling and take care of other needs? No!
