Have you booked for your three day stay at a hotel? How much did it cost you.

I read from 2 people who said it cost them $1550.

But I guess we wait to hear more from those who will book soon.

Okay. Which airport will you be landing? I discovered that the hotel quarantine is actually not up to 2000CAD. For instance, at Toronto Pearson international airport, Sheraton gateway hotel is 319CAD per night, for the three nights, it's 957CAD.
BTW, when was your passport returned to you?

Good morning house
Please I submitted my application on Thursday with an agent and we used my email but I haven't received any mails from IRCC at all.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 18 by Tim4humanity: 9:05am On Feb 20, 2021
Hello Everyone In the house, I can't thank you guys enough for the life saving information you all post here, that's why I always come here when I need helpful information. Well long story short, I think I might have hit a stumbling block with my study abroad journey. I just received my refusal letter from the Canadian embassy and my refusal was based on these two reasons :
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in
subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on your personal assets and financial status.

Based on the second point, I presented 23m naira as my proof of funds from a joint estate account owned my me and my sister (i also stated in my SOP and presented a letter signed by my sister that the funds in the joint estate will be directed towards my education in Canada). I don't know why they gave the refusal based on the first point.
Adding to this; I have a bsc in Information Technology, I applied for a PG diploma in Data Analysis in Langara college Vancouver. The only work experience I have related to this course was in my nysc service year (2019/20), will the gap in employment affect my application ?.
Please, our travel abroad guru's in the house @Frankrobbn1, @JustMellow
can be of any help please.
I just need some assistance on how I can tackle this issue and structure my next SOP during my next application. Thank you very much.

Good morning everyone, please does anyone know if I can use an IELTS General training result for a study permit.

I have gotten admission already from a school that didn’t require it because I’m a citizen of Nigeria.

But I’m thinking I should add it to my application as a supporting document just incase.

I wrote this Particular IElTS exam last year when I thought I was going to apply for PR / express entry whatever

Thank you in advance for your response

Good morning house
Please I submitted my application on Thursday with an agent and we used my email but I haven't received any mails from IRCC at all.
If you submitted your Application on Thursday, you out to have received two mails by now in which you will be directed to login into your GCkey account. Once you login, you would see two PDF files in Blue Colour

- Confirmation of Submission
- Biometrics Instruction Letter (BIL)
, so download them, most esp. that BIL, cos that's one of the document you will take to VFS (Lagos or Abuja office) for your BIOMETRICS.

If you haven't gotten a mail from IRCC by now, its either
- Your Application has not bin submitted due to TRANSACTION DECLINED (in red color) caused by IRCC not accepting payment from some ATM Cards;
or
- due to some Unforseen Circumstances

If the payment was successful and you were debited the $235 CAD in Nigerian exchange rate in CAD, wait till Monday, the mail might come in by then.

Get across to the Agent that submitted your Application to know how far

I don’t think so. They expect that your day to day normal life will still go on and you need to spend to go on with life. As far as a tidy sum that reflects your ability to live in canada is in the SOA to be presented at POE, I think that should be fine.

My thinking.

Another trick is to find a company that you have access to here in NIgeria, apply for your transcript to be sent to them for employment purpose, then get a copy from them.

Please what forms would I need to fill for the study visa application
The ‘FORMS’ you’d need are:

(a.) Application of a Study Permit made outside Canada. (IMM 1294)
(b.) Application for a Temporary Resident Visa made outside Canada.
(c.) Family Information Form (IMM 5645 or IMM 5707)

I strongly doubt that they would allow this. If you read the information available on the page, one is not even allowed to hang in shared space. So I don’t think they will allow 2 unrelated people stay in one space.

If they allow people share m, then it’s no longer quarantine and they won’t cut corners for anyone.

Sorry about this delay. Please do well to request for your GCMS notes. It will give more insight. Don’t be in a hurry to reapply.

Usually for purpose of visit, you need to look critically at your SOP. It might means you have not been able to convince the VO about your work, experience and your intended studies.

Also for finance, if you have all the money and you are not able to adequately show and let the VO see that the money is available and it’s coming from a named source and all that, it might be a problem. So just make sure that you are adequately showing what you have. Give them upfront, don’t make them look for it.

Take time to digest the bites when it comes and the repackage and reapply.

It will end in praise.

purpose of visit from my experience is that you didn't explain why you want that course and it may have not been in relation with your bsc for that financial thing I dont know. But did you include land documents or so

To be honest I don’t have a work experience as regards my qualification except field placements. I don’t know if I am correct about this but I think I have read somewhere here that it takes about 35days for GCMS.
I would love to get your review on my SOP, you might be doing me a lot of good with that.
Thank you

So sorry about your Refusal

To rectify this issue,

You would need to order for your GCMS Notes (which would take 28-35 days to get) so as to see the VO's comment/assesment about your application. Your GCMS note will show the reasons why you were refused cos the refusal reasons on this refusal letter sent to you is a GENERIC one. In a nutshell, so as not to re-apply blindly, get your GCMS Note

It's the content in that VO's Comment on your GCMS Notes you gonna address/tackle

Then you can comeback here to the forum & show the refusal reasons (Screenshot of the bolded VO's Comment), so gurus & members in house will be able to give result-oriented advice/suggestions

While you await your your GCMS notes,

Educate yourself with this content & also watch the videos there, it will be helpful during your re-application
