I'm curious. What's the atom called in your language?

Atom has no term in my language. But check out; so many things used today in my village were unknown such as radio, wrist watch, automobile vehicles. School, hospital and church are terminologies that didn't exist before the white man came to my village. But guess what, we have names for them in my language today. When we are ready to teach in our language, a term for atom will come up.

You really think so? Have you heard our Igbo brothers speak? Do you see how they punctuate their sentences with so many English words?

Well as a teacher, I've seen enough to disagree with you. Besides, teachers already explain stuff to students in their local dialects and it hasn't helped so much.

Our problem is abstract learning. We sort of force students to memorise new ideas and concepts and this is very difficult in any language. I believe things will improve when teaching and learning become more practical

Let's wait for some few years and see what's left of the school.
Most of you haven't step foot in the North thats why I can't blame you.
The North has budget for education than any other region but backwardness won't let dem shine..
The library they haave in the school I served enn, have never come across such in a public school down south and still the only thing the student comes in to do is glance tru picture and laugh, even teachers can barely express dem self.

You think English Is Holier To you.

Mr Almighty English.

Remember that No Single Country on Earth That developed with Foreign Language.

England Teaches with English
French Teaches with French
Russia teaches with Russian
China teaches With Mandrin
India Teaches with Hindi or Bengali or telegu

only in Africa that Abandoned their Mother Tongue and Became Proud with Explorers/Migrators/Refugees Ones and also make chase beating with it.

All the nations you mentioned FORMED themselves just like our local tribes formed themselves.
Hence one language binds the whole nation.
Nigeria and many african countries are a collection of many smaller nations that were humbly minding their business.
We were forced together into a bigger nation. And that is why we use English as a common language to bind us together.

So which language should we use as national language in Nigeria now?
Talk fast-fast so I can start by reprogramming this very website into the language.
We will then see if people can continue using this service.
From there we move to all news agencies, and the national assembly.

This is the best response to the extremist war that has threatened the state for years now.

I must commend the state government for investing so massively in educational infrastructure and I hope it will spur those who are willing to sacrifice all to ensure the kids up there get a better future. Good one.

With the security situation remaining as fluid as it is this might have to be the model for now. Bigger, well built and better defended educational infrastructure.

There should be no greater investment in the north east, nothing more important right now than the factors that have led to the greatest insecurity challenge of our time, the breakdown of the education system and the viciois cycle of poverty and depravity it has engendered.

Education forments hope, it breaks down barriers and places religion in proper perspective. It tools the individual towards solutions to all and every challenge and makes him/her a generator of virtue.

No particular language owns atom. You will find atom in use in several languages. Better to adopt any word we can't translate

They've been through a lot, so they sure deserve the best of the best. However, its not how far but how well! All that matters now is utilization and proper maintenance.
