Other things being equal, the first year of a car's generation is more problematic than subsequent years where the manufacturers have listened to complaints and made corrections to that generation..

Other things being equal, I will take an 07 accord DC over an 08 with it's plenty cylinder shut-down wahala and other new generation teething problems...this is because the DC embodies all the corrections made to that generation....So as long as I get a good specimen, I am home and dry

For any model I can afford, i try to go for the last year of such model...E get why

Bros, no difference. I'm currently using a 2008 accord.
The only difference is the trim (ex, exl,..). If u get a better offer (less year used, affordable and bought toks), bros Bleep the year and go for it. A cheaper and a year used 08 is way better than four years used 12.
Jst make sure it has not seen much use and most importantly it must be bought tok.

I am quite surprised a lot of people on Nairaland are rooting for the accord. But in real life, people will tell you the Camry is a better vehicle. They say Honda has too much wahala. In reality, I have checked most mechanic workshops and still found out that you find more Toyota vehicles compared to Honda vehicles at their workshops.

Gosh, i used to admire that A4 2.0T. But i then discovered how Audi and Volks manufacturers have lost all sense of reasoning as regards maintenance of these cars.

The fuel consumption is not going to tear your pocket but you need to know it is not a Corolla. Mine is 2.4L A Civic should be much more economical... I've not taken my time to put a figure on the consumption but I would estimate 9 to 12L per 100km...I almost always drive with air conditioner..

The maintenance is quite easy and not that financially tasking though. I had some challenges with it after buying and that's due to bad or should o say corrupt mechanical handling. But ever since I got the skivvies and running shoes together, the car has been up and doing. I have a 2010 A6 and a 2012 c300. But I will pick the A4 over them any day any time twice on a Sunday. And about oil, once I service the car with a fully synthetic oil and change all the plugs and break pad even if not bad, am always good to go.

Toyota and honda are the leading market in Nigeria when it comes to car sales.

Toyota has been edging honda only due to availability of parts and how cheap their parts are.
The Honda on its own has a better interior features than the toyota.

Toyota camry 2008 is better than The Honda Accord 2008, this is what made it one of the most used car in Nigeria.
