I am 37years old, single, civil servant (Engineer) with a federal govt agency.

I have friends that can send me invitation.

Guys my covid test results has no passport number on it. Hope that won’t be an issue?

Pls what is happening, I kept not getting appoint ment date on my profile, does it mean I am going to loss my MVR fee, I have mailed the US embassy, but it has not been fixed yet, I applied for a visa 2019, due to the covid 19 pandemic, it was postponed.

Your passport being a new one doesn't matter.
Your profile is not your passport. Don't let general gists around town scare you.
Economic ties, reason for the trip and a dash of confidence at the interview is the most important.

I want to secure a visiting visa for my mum but she is still stuck with passport paper not available and the plan is for her to be here by July.
Going by unavailability of interview in Lagos and Abuja spaces already getting overbooked, what are my chances?
Can we still get a date in Abuja in time for her to come over by July?
I will appreciate any info.

Totally untrue especially if it's not on the basis of providing false info/doc etc. People get rejected all the time but eventually get it granted when it's their time.

This is just one of the many scams government officials use in extorting people.
The "passport paper is not available" is just a lie NIS personnel spin to box people into a corner and then demand gratification to "help". And it's not limited to one passport office. It's nationwide.
There is passport paper. They only want you to part with money for their " facilitation"

Not really, questions around why we accepted discount before denied, also purpose for that visa was birthing also, this wasn't.

Evidence to support your reason for travel, evidence to prove ur employment status or ability to sponsor ur trip, maybe evidence to prove ties to ur country, etc.

But funny thing is 95% of the time, they don't ask to see evidence for ppl that have their visas approved.

You can fill your ds160 form yourself, no expertise is required.

There are currently no appointments in Lagos. You may need to wait a little and see if new dates will be opened up while you keeping checking about 2 to 3 times everyday.

Also words on the street is that there are appointments available in Abuja, with September being the first available date. You may check it out if that will be a viable option for you.

There's booklet,they did same thing to my friend. They ll only print for vvips. Tell them you want to meet the oga that someone from government House sent you call any name � �. That was the scope mu friend used and they printed her passport that same day.

I need your take on this. Is there anything like diplomatic visa for non diplomatic member.

I had an argument with someone yesterday that obviously, diplomatic visa real, but for someone who is not a part of a diplomatic mission, that can't be possible. I argued that the system is now so sophisticated that they Oyinbo can't be fooled with this in the 21st century.

That even if it does, the whole deceit will be detected at the point of entry. In my heart, my argument was not convincing as I dont have real life evidence to corroborate my claims. I just have this absolute trust in the system of the of the US embassy to detect deceit.

Can anyone shed more light on this. Or does anyone has a real life experience on it. The guy said it is a Visiting diplomatic visa.

It is the same visa type. B1/ B2 visa.

Invitation letter is not a guarantee to get visa approval

Me: Hey Good afternoon, how’s it going?
CBP: I’m doing good, where are you coming from?
Me: Lagos Nigeria
CBP: purpose of visit
Me: Business and Visiting my Elder Brother
CBP: How long are you staying for
Me: 3 weeks

She asked me to remove my face mask and captured me
Cbp: Apart from the last time you visited the US, have you been to the US before?

Me: No.
Cbp stamps my passport for 6months.

I went to baggage claim and was referred to Agriculture specialists. men those guys drilled me

CBP: Do you have any fruits or meat?
Me: Nope (I didn’t know my Mum packaged garden egg and Yam for my Elder Brother), the cbp checked and saw garden egg, yam and ungrounded Egusi.
He told a white CBP lady to depose all the Egusi and the reason was because I didn’t grind it.
He asked me where I did covid test , I said in a private Laboratory in Benin City Nigeria, then he said some Nigerians pay 50k and get fake covid Report from the airport, as I was about replying he said I shouldn’t bother to argue about it so he doesn’t take it further and his friend who is a Nigerian told him.
The CBP guy said he would have fined me $300 for bringing those stuffs but this is gonna be like a warning and next time I will be fined.
He scanned my passport and told me to go.

They will also include your name on their system and anytime you pass through they will stop you to ask for foodstuff. Lucky you.

This I didn't pack the luggage myself has put many people in troubles at POEs. It's important for you to have adequate knowledge of the content of your luggage. Let's be careful folks.
