I only asked a simple question, all you had to do is educate me, it wasn't an invite to be obnoxious. undecided now, back your ridiculous claims up with facts. Which part of my assertions is wrong? Or assumptions as you put it.

Do you earn $6000 a month? I don't think so, but if you do, please do elaborate further how or quit giving false hopes to folks, thank you! cheesy

You didn’t ask a simple question. You flat out said I was wrong. And here you are telling me my post is ridiculous. It’s not too late to delete your error like I said.

You want me to do what? Ask people to post their pay stub or post mine for you? You already know that’s not possible but google is your friend if you want to know what people who have good jobs in “the abroad” earn.
Like I said in my OP , good jobs.

So my advice to the young guy still stands. If his reason is financial, then he better get moving.

grin cheesy read my comments again and point out where I said it was flat out wrong,

My initial comments started with really? Who earns $6000 a month? Now, if that isn't a question tell me what it is, peharps your definition or interpretation of a question is different.

Google? grin okay. Why do people always resort to this lame excuse?

I can bet my house you don't earn $6000 a month and you don't know anyone who does.

"Good job" eh? Most Americans work as janitors, security guards, carers, cab drivers, trash collectors, nurses, waiters and waitresses and ETC most people in "the Abroad" do these jobs also and they do not earn $6000 or more as you claimed and this guy will turn up in America and start earning from the so called "good job" on his first month in America right? grin is he gonna work in the white house as a senator or govern a state?

There are no such term or descriptions as a "good job" every job is good. cheesy peharps you should be specific with your "good job" description undecided what does a good job mean? tongue

Stop deceiving people on here with your porkies.

Your claims are ridiculous!!!

i don't believe it! A janitor or a gabbage collector makes more than $6000 a month? Get outta here! How much an hour? How many hours a day, a week or a month? Before or after taxes?

Exactly, no one would show their paylips to proof that they might be telling porkies. cheesy so you don't earn or knows anyone who earns more than $6000 a month.

I don't need to google anything, why do people make claims and when they are pushed for proofs they resort to lame excuses like "ask google" why couldn't they provide first hand proofs from personal experiences?

It is a blatant lie! No menial job would earn a worker $6000 or more, tell me where and i will go and apply.

Yes! You are correct with the jobs you have listed, considering the risks, Nurses in covid wards and Soldiers, what about Janitors, gabbage collectors, securty, walmart shop assistants and ETCs?

rent depends on locations and the size of your house, Some people live in social housings and do not pay much on rent and oh! the size of your family also, some families receives welfare checks, tax credits, food stamps and benefits so it is not as mundane as one may think. Even if people have large families their benefits, tax credits and welfare money still cover part if not huge part of their household bills.

Are you suggesting that people who earns less than $6k would not survive in America?

@bold, absolutely not. But to qualify for some of those things, you have to be near or under the poverty line which is currently a joke.

Read my first post again. I said most people with good jobs. I never said everyone does make that type of money.

Where did I mention janitor or garbage collector? My initial post said people with “good jobs” make that. Clearly to any discerning person, I wasn’t referring to minimum wage workers.

Dude stop. Bow out gently .

Never mind that you said even directors don’t make that much? Lol. Directors in what type of places? You had no idea what you were talking about.

Oga you were wrong from step one all the way. Let it go.I know the money sounds like a lot when converted to Naira and that’s why it’s easy to doubt it. But that (and above that) is standard pay for a good job here.
Above 6 figures yearly is actually more common than you think.

A person Earning $2000/month will have a hard time unless they are single with no family to support. Even then they will still struggle.
If they have a family, they will need govt assistant with almost everything. Subsidized housing, cheapest car they can find, subsidized childcare if they can find it, food stamps, etc. they will be in debt and will most likely be hustling more than one job to keep food on their table and their house warm in the winter.

correct, all these i ve already mentioned apart from being in debt, i also mentioned family size, location and size of house that person would likely be living in would determine size of rent and bills. tongue

If I am single no kids, living on my own, no car, no irrelevant expensis, I can support myself on $2000 a month it isn't a death sentence, there are homeless 1000s of Americans surviving on soup kitchens.

It is when people wanna buy stuffs they don't need, eat take outs, eat macdees, buy shoes, cloths they are never gonna wear and electronic gadgets they don't need, just to impress people they don't like and on social media. That is when they claim they cannot live on $2000 a month.
