Hello everyone,
I'll be traveling back to Nigeria with my 3 year old. Please does she need a PCR test?
Re: Giving Birth In Canada by Hotstepper(f): 2:40am On Dec 11, 2020
No, he does not need to do it. Only you will do it. I am in Naija with my kids and none of them did it. If they are less than 10, they don’t have to. Make sure to visit ncdc site for steps on what to do after the test. Safe travels

Please can Canada grant me transit visa to Barbados. I want to have my child in Barbados but unfortunately no direct flight from Nigeria to Barbados. Generally Canada visas are unpredictable and not straight forward. I don’t want to get any visa denial from them. I just need a transit visa that’s all.

Any suggestions?
Thank you all
Canada, Transit visa!! Just focus on UK visa for your transit

Hello Dazzing,

My situation is quite similar to yours. I have a visa and had my first child in Canada, I plan to travel next week and need some immigration advice from you. I sent you a mail, please respond.
dazzing:

Hello, Sorry for late responses, I noticed that since my last post I got alot more direct mails, and I see there are a few questions on here that I haven't responded too. I'll try and do that now, but some quick update:

I got my baby's passport. from interview/form submission day till I got it took just two weeks, so I'll say the process is still working okay even with the restrictions and limited service.

General update: Canada border restrictions to visitors was extended again till end of this oct.

answers to questions:
yes, you are on point there are mainly two confident sources to get travel restrictions on countries, IRCC and IATA websites. which I also used. My first child like I shared is a Canadian, Canadians are allowed into their country and me as the mum, an immediate family member. so airline would always ask for evidence which is the birth certificate. again non-optional/non discretionary reasons, mine was medical. plus I have PR siblings but that only came up when I was already at canada immigration. the main thing is airlines will not let you fly if you cannot show evidence to enter a country that has restrictions. Again I dunno it may have cooled down now, but when I used airfrance I saw a lady who was bounced at Paris, as she didn't meet the criteria. it wasn't pretty. I understand that not all members of this forum would meet that criteria that's why I said my post is useful for intending mums coming after the ease of Canada lock down.

My journey to come though cumbersome will not be relevant to this group cause the conditions I traveled then have all changed now. Now there are airlines and countries have opened up. Again even though I am Nigerian, I don't live in Nigeria, I live in another African nation, so when I came my journey was broken in pieces, through different African countries, with the last leg being via Paris to Canada. I hope I've answered all questions. I'll update the group again if I get any other info.

Oh I forgot to mention, some months back the Nigerian embassy here wasn't working , but now I saw the press release that they have resumed services but very limited and by strict appointments only. this was really a massive headache to me, and in the end, I will not be using them as I suspect there may be backlog on their side.

Sorry Nana for just seeing this, I have responded to your mail, but for the attention of others I'll still say, always check IATA and Canada immigration website. I recently got a mail about some mandatory 3 days in a hotel paid by you for all travelers. in fact I was planning some sort of visit with my family but when I got that email, I have had major change of plans. so its good to keep checking I remember I used to check weekly some times a few days apart when I wanted to go on my own trip.

Hi Everyone,

I am 15weeks Pregnant and we are trying to apply for toursim/birth Visa since restrictions have now been lifted, however I have the following questions;

1) If successful how many month Visa will we be granted?
2) My husband wants to apply as an attending, is this advisable ( I need all the support I can get as this is my first baby)?
3) How much should we have in our account since its the 2 of us that will be applying?
4)Is there any sure agency for birthing that you can recommend here in Nigeria?
5)After the baby is born, is it possbile for us to change the Tourist Visa to immigration/work Visa since canada is currently experiencing employment gaps issues?
6) If its possible, which sure plug can we use?

Please kindly advise as the baby is growing per minute.

Thanks

Hello.

Please I need advice. is it advisable to start Canada visa application now that my wife is already 4 months gone?

234 days is written on their website as the processing date. If Canada won't work, what other better option should we try?
Thank you.

WHT option did you use

I will advise you await ITA. In my opinion, I don't think you should use this to jeopardize your PR journey. Las Las, pikin go be be citizen. Let others contribute.

Too late to contribute but no express entry draw has been done since Dec 23 2020. Having a profile doesn't mean you can not apply.
